Agree that instructions are pretty useless. Took me around 1hr to install. The electrical box hanger mount holes are huge, used large washers on my box hardware for this. I went with the short rod, unit hung nicely for wiring hook up. Had to replace the rod retaining screws they were to long and prevented the decorative cover from sitting flush against the fan housing. Once you get to the ship wheel install the 3 screw rods in the fan housing without the knurled (white) nuts. This way you can line up the mount holes with the threaded inserts then install the knurled nuts and hand tighten. There is no need for the small nuts they had discard. Fan looks great and moves air fairly well. We chose this for the nautical and fishing theme as we convert our Tampa home into an Airbnb.

I Love my new fan! It's so cool! I've never had one like this where when the fan is not in use the fan blades fold away. The directions were not very clear in some areas but the company answered us quickly.

The media could not be loaded.  This fan was purchased to finish our child's beach-house themed nursery room. It would have been the perfect final touch. In spite of the useless instructions, and the light kit which has no clear or obvious means of connection to the fan housing itself, the fan was installed after several hours of trial and error. I have installed six fans in this new house in the last year, and probably over twenty total, without any problems until this one. Despite the strange setup, and the poor instructions, and the odd remote receiver unit, the unit did function great for five whole minutes. After that, it would only beep rapidly and flash the lights. See video. Amazon was mildly helpful, but the seller themselves were beyond useless. Several attempted emails with contacts at the seller, and nothing went anywhere. Finally, after becoming frustrated, ordered an identical replacement from Amazon. Hooked everything up, left the wires loose until I was confident everything was OK. After an hour, went to tuck everything up into the housing, and guess what? SAME THING AGAIN. I said to heck with all of this and I am sending both units back to Amazon / "Litfad." I will use something from Hunter or Harbor Breeze or some other company who yes, might use Chinese made products, but at least have good support, instructions, packaging, and remote units which are not wonky afterthoughts asking for problems. This is my first Amazon review, as far as I can recall. This thing is just so awful I had to warn others.

The fan itself looks nice if you have someone that knows enough to modify the assembly of the light to the fan. The holes don't match up to fan motor. We read everyone's nicely detailed help on issues they had but it still wasn't helpful in final assembly. Also if you dint use the remote which was a whole other problem you can't run fan and lights separately and there is no reverse on the fan. There is also no way to have a pull start as suggested when purchasing on Amazon. Don't by the cute pull chain. When it's done it looks good they need the fan people to talk to the decorator then make instructions. Good luck it took hours....

fair, but not great quality and materials. Installation instructions are poor. Wire used is about 24 gauge, make sure that you have tiny wire nuts for connections and check that all connections are solid are before installing, or you may have to take the fixture down to examine.

We purchased 4 of these nautical fan lights for our Boathouse and everyone loves them.. We definitely recommend them 👍

NO INSTRUCTIONS!!!!!!!!!! Having trouble getting the lights to work.First one was broken. Cannot get lights to work on the new one.Have a certified electriction putting it in. Looks great, but really a pain to install with NO INSTRUCTIONS!!!
