All Kinds Of Families!

this is a truly lovely book, i came across this whilst looking for 'mouk' products, a show which my son adores on disney junior, this book is written by the same author that mouk was before being made into a cartoon for disney. it has a lovely message to it and the rhyming is really gently and nice. it gives out a message that there are all different kinds of families, whether that be single mums, dads, big families, small families, black, white, asian etc however instead of using people it interprets it using random things like spoons and buttons however its clear what the author is trying to get across. certainly a message i encourage my son to take in and a book we both enjoy reading and looking at as the illustration is very colourful and pretty too. my son is almost 2 years old and loves books. hope this helps :)

This book is a feast of beautiful illustration and very reassuring and wise text by the wonderful Mary Ann Hoberman. It`s bursting with wisdom and colour, and endlessly fascinating for a small child----and the accompanying adult. We love this illustrator and have several of his beautiful books already, so this one has been added to the 'very special book' collection.Starting at 2 , a child can grow with it and enjoy it for many years. The quality of the paper, printing and contents is superb.

Best book - me and my little daughter love it.

Illustrations are beautiful, and the book has a lovely rhythmic pattern. Good starting point for discussing different types of families.

The book was recieved well by the children in our pre school room and suited the needs of our all about me project.

As a single mother, I bought this for my almost three year old who has been noticing daddies everywhere, and her role play always involves mummy, daddy and babies. after discussing with her that there are other types of families, (such as just mums, just dads, grandparents, two mums or two dads, I wanted a book to support this.This book makes families out of all sorts of objects but they are all grouped together like a family of spools or buttons or trees which in the illustrations appear to be the generic family unit.daughter enjoys the rhyming content and fun illustrations Nice book, but Not what I was looking for!!

I bought this book because my children spend lots of time arranging the most bizarre things into 'families' - pebbles, sticks, boxes anything really. I'm also a big fan of the illustrator. The whole book however is just lovely with the rhyming and rhythemical text is a pleasure to read aloud. So many different 'families' to look for here with the child as an essential part of the family whether they are a daughter,son,sister,brother,cousin etc. A gorgeous book.

Fantastic! Its a much loved book in our household.its a great present if you are stuck for ideas.
