Simple to install and stopped the perpetual transmission leak.
Seems like every cork or rubber transmission pan gasket I have replaced or paid someone to replace still leaked. This doesn't. Its easy to install and does not need RTV sealer, so that mess is eliminated. You will need CLEAN, FLAT surfaces on the pan and the transmission for a good seal. A bent or deformed pan will leak no matter what gasket you use. This gasket went on a TH400 in a 87 Chevy V30/K30. I reused the factory bolts...the gasket is not so thick they cant be used again. Cork and rubber gaskets suck, and if you have to do it over you will waste $35 on more transmission fluid. And this gasket is reusable so its worth the money. DON'T overtighten...bolts, according to what I read should tightened in the neighborhood of 12lb...or 144 in/lb if using a small torque wrench. I did not use a torque wrench as I have done this for years...but to describe it by feel would be "slightly more than snug". It is a good idea to tighten the bolts in a criss-cross pattern gradually. I have a habit of overtightening bolts so I paid particular attention to this. If you overtighten it will compress the gasket and/or deform the pan. Both cause leaks. Be patient when you remove the bolts....the transmission housing is aluminum and you need to make sure you work the bolt out if it is partially seized.... quick force can snap it off. And when reinstalling the bolts thread them in by hand or with a nut driver before you torque them down. if you force them in they can cross thread.

Could not get to seal, and has now split.
I was never able to get this gasket to seal. When I intially put this gasket on I torqued the pan bolts lightly, but had leaks, I gradually increased the torque again, still leaked. I repeated the process, and now the soft urethane/rubber of the gasket has split and I am leaking worse than when I started. The mating surface of the transmission was clean before the install, and the pan itself is a thick aftermarket aluminum from Speedway. I am not sure what the issue is other than I now need to start looking for something better.

Slight modification
I replaced the OEM pan on my TH400 to a TrickFlow high capacity pan when the original gasket began to fail and leak. I first tried a Lube Locker gasket and experienced a leak within a couple days of driving despite proper cleaning of surfaces and torqued to spec. Decided to try the Moroso gasket and so far, no leaking. I had to custom contour the gasket to fit around the bell housing in front of pan but using the previous gasket as a template made that easy but still knocked a star off for that issue.

One serious pan gasket.
This is a serious gasket that I decided to try when I got tired of trying everything else. Two layers with steel sandwiched between them. Each layer is thicker than the rubber gaskets I've tried. Haven't put it on yet, but looking forward to trying it.

Beware
Installed on a th400 in a Winnebago by the time we got from va to okc it was pouring fluid out. Split in half and leaking. Not why I bought “the best” and no I didn’t over tighten it. It practically melted.

Just gotta save for a LS
Not as good a seal as I thought it would be. I have small drips every now and then.

Works well. Reusable.
this fixed my leak around the pan on my th400. I also ended up having to upgrade the dipstick since that's where my actual leak was. :)
