A nice throwback.
I'm going to keep this short and sweet. It's an amazing piece of hardware.. But I'm not happy I got a used controller. Some slight wear and scratches on the buttons. I won't be returning it because it works well enough. I'm wondering if it wasn't a review sample?I was skeptical buying this. A Bluetooth controller that mimics the original SNES controller. Both in looks, and functionality. With it being Bluetooth, I was weary of input lag and performance.I use this primarily on my computer. Using Retroarch I've tried a few different console cores with it. It's actually surprising how well this actually worked. First thing I noticed was that I had to change the dpad mapping, otherwise the dpad wouldn't work in game. After that I booted up A Link to the Past. Running through the intro, I was surprised at how little input lag was actually there. Yes, I was running it over Bluetooth, not the included USB cable. Then SMRPG and a few Gameboy games. It works amazing. The dpad feels a bit.. Spongy... For lack of better terms, but works great. The face buttons are slightly clicky and firm. The shoulder buttons are responsive. Everything is as close to 1:1 as you can get to the original hardware. With that said, this is as close to reliving my childhood I can get without bringing out the SNES and CRT.I didn't test battery life as this is only my first week. I will update my review as I go. So far? I HIGHLY recommend it to anyone.

Too many issues to justify its price.
I've had this controller for almost a year now. They may have revised controller and fixed the issues I'm about to list. It's a very solid controller and feels great in the hand. The problems with this controller makes me not want to recommend it. My biggest issue is the dpad. It is incredibly easy to accidentally press the wrong direction. I don't have this issue with the SNES controller or other remake types. It makes precise movement impossible. The other issue is the bluetooth implementation is pretty bad. There is a noticeable delay in input when using this wirelessly. The battery life is less than ideal but not terrible. As a wired controller it gets the job done but it's not worth the price. While limited in features I feel like the competition is a better recommendation at the more affordable price and working dpad. Wait for a second revision that fixes these glaring issues or look elsewhere.

Old School Meets New Tech!
I was born in the 80's so this is Nostalgia at its best. I already have the NES30 but when I saw the SFC30 for a lower price than the NES30, I immediately jumped on. This purchase was for running emulators on Amazon's Fire TV box (don't buy the stick). Boy I tell 'yah, this thing is a 'bute. Once paired, this thing connects and reconnects with ease (something I was looking for). It even connects much better than the NES30! Tested all popular emulators and the results are what I wanted. Long battery life (around 450mAH), easy reconnect, almost a 1:1 feel to the controller, and way way more. This is easily recommendable but you do need to be familiar with emulators and the controller's pairing/repairing methods when connecting to a different device. This actually has a better connection to the Fire TV than it does my PC (bad built in bluetooth). Not fully tested but I got no noticeable lag.I did contemplated if I should get the NES30Pro but the buttons looks to be smaller spacing wise so no go there. If you are a old skool gamer as I am, this would be a no brainer, unless your a Genesis guy (my favorite 16-bit console) your SOL.P.S. I believe 8bitdo is working on their bluetooth dongle for the SNES, which means this controller will be wireless on an actual SNES console!!!!!

The perfect retro gamepad
This is a really nice gamepad. It's lightweight but with enough heft to be comfortable and not feel cheap, the back is slightly curved and wedge-shaped for a better feel, and the buttons are fantastic. Setup with Bluetooth was trivial, at least for my use- I'm using this controller with a RetroPie, so I left it in the default mode and just paired it up. I don't notice any lag at all; I don't play fighting games, but I never feel like I've missed a jump or shot due to a late button press. They advertise battery life as something like 30 hours, which I haven't really tested. I just plug it in every couple days. The firmware is also still under active development- they've fixed a number of bugs with RetroPie over the last year, so that's very encouraging. The attention to detail is excellent, right from the start. The controller comes in a nice padded box, rather than a crummy clamshell, so it just feels quality before you even open the box. It includes a ridiculously nice USB cable, a short but concise instruction sheet, and a key chain, for some reason. The fit and finish is precise, with no obvious seam ridges. There's very minimal side-to-side or vertical play in the buttons. Even the two (small) status lights are on the front of the controller rather than the top, so you don't need to see them while you're playing. You're probably also looking at the Buffalo Classic USB Gamepad for PC wired controller, so I'll compare it to that. They're both nice controllers, but I think I prefer this 8bitdo model. The face & shoulder buttons are slightly "clickier", which I like, but we're not talking Model M keyboard kind of clicks. There's no "turbo" buttons, which I think is a feature- I don't really want anything besides an exact SNES design. Unless you don't have Bluetooth available on your game machine, there's no reason whatsoever to not purchase this controller. The extra ~$15 is well spent to not have to deal with wires. Highly recommended.
