Solid Lock and Chain to Deter Thieves
Bought this for my scooter after the first one was stolen. This lock and chain is heavier/stronger quality. While a determined thief can get around most any chain and lock given enough time. This one will take enough time that hopefully they will go steal an easier target.

Great E-Bike lock! But…
I really like the security that a chain bike locks offers because they tend to be difficult for a thief to deal with in field conditions. They are loose and difficult to hold in place especially when using an angle grinder to cut through it. This kryptonite chain definitely is no exception. The 12mm manganese hardened steel is going to be pretty difficult to cut through in the field. Would probably take at least 5 minutes or longer to cut through this chain successfully. The cinch loop is also a really nice added feature because it allows you to get the most out of the chain length. This chain is almost perfect… almost. As you can see in the product photos there are 2 or 2 1/2 chain links that are not covered by the included nylon chain sleeve. If you care about scratches on your bike (which I assume you do) this is a problem because this will easily scratch up your bike if your not careful. I’m not sure why they wouldn’t include a protective sleeve that only leaves one chain link exposed on each side as this wouldn’t affect anything negatively. I would recommend either wrapping tape around the exposed chain links or buying a different sleeve that fits the chain length more appropriately.Non the less I’m still very happy with my purchase and use this lock everyday.

Lightest chain that still tell theives to f off
This is the chain to go with if you've ever had a theft attempt on your bike, or are smart enough to prevent it. My old chain was about halfway cut through when I found it and for some reason the thief didn't finish the job. Not becuase they couldn't, b/c the chain was barley still together. That's when I said i paid too much for my bike to play this game. I have to step up and get a legit lock. "But damn" i said to myself, those heavy high end kryptonite locks weigh so much. Some of them 15 lbs, and that's not feasible to ride around with all the time for me. Enter this model chain. This is the lightest, most well designed form of a heavy duty "maximum security" chain that kryptonite offers. First off, let's just lay it out there. Yes, any chain can ultimately be cut through if the thief has enough balls and enough time to break them out in public. A freaking plasma cutter can melt steel and I suppose if you somehow rigged one up to ur truck and went out in the middle of the night, you could cut any lock thats physically made. However, short of that, the kryptonite new york "fuggetaboutit" level locks and these new york "series 4" are the highest protection you can buy. They are not made of steel but manganese, making them "almost" impossible to cut through. And you have to realize the mindset of the the theif: they are looking for a quick steal. They don't want to sit down and set up shop in front of your bike trying to take it. So with that in mind, this is the highest level security you can get. It's 11/12 on their security scale and offers the highest level of reimbursement they will pay: $3500 for your bike if the lock is cut.Now enter the idea of it being a noose. One word: BRILLANT. This design esentially doubles the chainlength without doubling the weight, which is HUGE when these chains weigh as much as they do. This chain comes in at about 6 pounds, which is the highest reasonable weight I'll carry on my bike. Infact I wrap this chain around the top tube when I'm using it and unless I'm jumping my bike around obstacles, I dont notice it's there. Ok, so the noose design as you'd imagine turns this 2.25' (not 2.5' like the title says, not sure why they advertise that) and essentially gives you as much chain length from your bike to bike rack as a 4 foot chain would. A regular 4' chain would have to wrap in a circle and you'd connect both ends, so your bike could only really be 2' away from the rack. This chain ALSO gives you 2' between you and the rack with you looping or "noosing" it around the rack, thread it through ur back tire (always) and lock the chain to your seat tube or down tube. See the pic I uploaded. In the end, this chain gives me the best of both worlds. Lighter weight closer to the weaker locks, but the high security and difficulty cutting of the new york locks. Highly recommended and would absolutely buy the noose design again.

This lock is ROBUST
I went into this purchase knowing that this lock was going to be heavy duty which is just what I needed for my new eBike, and man this thing did not disappoint. It is definitely heavy duty and robust and is even more so than I expected. I haven't had any trouble with it yet, and it's protected my bike excellently *knock on wood*. It is heavy (and I got the smaller length), so you will absolutely want to make sure that you have something to transport it in for your rides as there's no way I would want to "wear" it like people do with lighter weight chains. This lock and chain are absolute beasts, so if you need to really protect your bike this is worth checking out.
