Great addition to our set
Works as described. Easy to put together, functions perfectly, excellent method to make the arms drop, no electricity required.

Great crossing but...
This is a very cool crossing! It works great, looks great, and is great. One this that I don't really like about it is that it has a huge dead spot on it. I think the reason to this dead spot is the design because I would clean this all the time with my track cleaner, but nothing was working. But apart from that, great crossing! Five Stars!

Bachmann Crossing gate for E-Z track
This is the favorite part of my grandson's train set. Moving parts are very delicate though. Bought this item to go with the Bachmann Santa Fe HO train with E-Z tract. Only wish someone would have told me that I needed to purchase two straight pieces of E-Z track to attach to the set. My grandson couldn't use it until I bought those pieces. According to a 7 year old, "It's the best part of the track!" Thumbs up!

Crossing Gates
Somehow I thought this was powered by the rails, but it's not. It is "gravity" powered by the weight of the train. Lighter cars cause the gates to bounce back up. Also, the lights are only decoration and don't blink. It's a nice unit, and it was fun to have around the christmas tree, but I should have looked closely at what I was getting and set my expectations accordingly. The piece is the standard length, so I just had to get another straight piece for the opposite side of the track (not included), and it was easy to assemble onto my existing train set. It works as advertised, the gates close when the train is passing.

Good, but not great.
For the money, and for our layout it works. Would liked to have spent a little more for lighted warning lights, but couldn't. It lacks realism, approach ramps do not fit well, component with signs and lights had to finally be glued to their base, kept falling off. Gate activation is very touchy, but with a little trimming and shimming it works now. May upgrade in future, works for now.
