This rice cooker is awesome! It cooks rice perfectly every single time with almost no effort. The operation is simple—just add the rice and water, press the button, and let it do its thing. The rice comes out fluffy, evenly cooked, and consistently delicious. Overall, this is one of those kitchen appliances that just works. If you eat rice regularly, I would definitely recommend it.

I had an Aroma rice maker that was fine but got moldy due to the design. I got this to replace the Aroma model. I’ve had it a week and made rice 4 times. The rice comes out perfect every time and the rice maker is super easy to use. I like the simple controls. The nonstick coating on the cooking pan is perfect. No rice has stuck at all and is easily removed with the plastic scoop. The price was great for the quality of the cooker. The design is well thought out; I’m not worried about this model getting moldy like my old Aroma cooker did because the cooking pan seals off the heating element and the glass lid is extremely easy to clean. I’ve only made 1 cup and 2 cups of rice so far, so I can’t speak to the 6 cup capacity. Also, like others have said, when the rice is cooking, the water does bubble up and does come out of the cooker a tiny bit. I just put it near my sink and there really isn’t much of a mess to clean up so this is a minor issue. It mainly just bubbles up on top of the lid and doesn’t overflow everywhere. The cooker is compact and easy to store. I hope it lasts a long time like the other reviews say because it is a phenomenal rice cooker and the rice comes out perfect every time. Also, it cooks the rice quickly, maybe 15 mins or so. It’s quiet also. I highly recommend this rice cooker for anyone who likes perfectly cooked rice at the flip of a switch.

I decided to buy this because I really suck at making brown rice. White rice, any variety, I'm a champ. But I decided I wanted to get more fiber and eat healthier and thought eating more brown rice sounded like a good idea, but cooking it on the stove, I've had mixed luck. When you're cooking something for almost an hour on the stove, there are a lot of variables that can mess up your "cook this for X minutes" recipe. I bought this because I wanted something small and relatively inexpensive and importantly, foolproof. I did some research on how rice cookers work. Basically, they boil at water at 100 C/212 F and then wait for the water to evaporate enough to get past that temperature. Once it's just barely past boiling (which it won't get until enough of the water is absorbed/evaporated), then the rice, in theory, should be done. The first batch of white rice I made, I did the exact measurements in the manual for 1 cup of dry rice. I used Jasmine. It was honestly perfect. Better than any stove rice I've managed to make, which surprised me, because I thought white rice on the stove was pretty easy/foolproof. Today, I decided to try brown rice. Since it's not just a trial run, I'm actually making food for my family, I decided to do 2 cups of brown rice, and the water the booklet called for (0.4 L, I think the instructions said). Because the book didn't do a great job of explaining whether you put the water in up to the level on the bowl first, I went and looked at the Zojirushi website where it said to put the water in, then the rinsed rice. So I did just that. Everything looked good and I turned the machine on. After about 10 minutes, so much water and steam started coming out of the machine, I had to put a paper towel on top so that my counter wouldn't get all covered in water. When that got soaked after a couple of minutes, I did another. When that got soaked, I had to pull out a shamwow style of towel and a sponge to catch any overflow. (Picture shown after I pulled the towel off so you can see the steam/water coming out). After about 10 minutes of that, the water boiling subsided to just enough that the towel and sponge were no longer needed. Hoping the rice is worth the trouble! In the future, if you eat more than a few servings of rice in your family, you might want to get a slightly larger rice cooker. Since it's just me, my husband, and my son, we really don't need the full two dry cups (to whatever cooked amount that creates...6 cups?), so I think we'll be fine just doing the one dry cup. Hopefully this helps someone!

Simple and effective. It's a lot smaller than I expected, but it cooks the advertised amount and the size makes it very easy to store, so that's great. It only has two settings and none of the bells and whistles of the specialty rice cookers, but it does produce some decent rice. Well cooked, separated grains, and little burned spots. Not perfect, but good enough.

This is a magnificent rice cooker. I love how simple it is to use and the very easy, descriptive instructions. This is definitely worth the price tag. The rice comes out tasty, fluffy, and sticky every time. I am so happy with the purchase. After using it, my partner and I talk about how amazing our rice is after every single use. 10/10 would buy again.

This is the first rice cooker I've ever bought and honestly, I don't know why I waited so long. I read reviews for some of the lower priced cookers and found that they were good, but not quite as good as the Zojirushi. I happened to get it on sale and absolutely love it! So easy to use and the rice comes out nice and fluffy. So much easier than standing by the stove and so much better quality and taste than microwavable rice. Just measure your rice, add water and turn it on. This one has an automatic shut off and stay warm feature which makes it even more convenient. It's small and easy to store. So glad I finally got one!

So glad I bought this, easy to use, perfect rice every time. Lifetime purchase and easy to store and put away, I like the detachable power cord. After lots of research I’d hoghly recommend this.

Very pleased with this little gem. This is our second rice cooker. Although we were pleased with the previous "other brand" that made wonderful rice during the 12 years of ongoing use, we decided to replace it with the Zojirushi based on reputation, size and looks and so far we have not been disappointed. The rice turns out perfect every time. It fits nicely in the cupboard, looks good on the counter and it is super simple to use. It has not produced any of the messiness that has been reported in other reviews (and that we experienced with the former rice cooker, which I think may be common with most rice cookers of this style). Very pleased with our purchase and highly recommend.

Came with a defect, the plastic feet support melted on first use, don't know where/how to return.
