Flames out the sides
My old burner flamed out of the top of the burner. This one flames out the sides. If you turn the gas up too high it will flame at you. On the bright side, because the jets are on the sides and under the ash guard, the jets don't get clogged with ash. Either way, it works great and having a fire is simple now. I have one most every night because its so easy. Just stack up a few logs and light the burner and enjoy. Very nice during these winter nights.

Great heavy duty log starter
This is a cast iron heavy duty log starter. Much better than the simple pipes. Will last for years and can be mounted from either side or the bottom. Recommend the use of an ember keeping log grate to maximize the Heat and burn of the wood. Simple and easy to install using high temperature thread sealant. With the Flames that this produces takes less than 5 minutes to start logs.

Blow torch.
This thing flows a lot of gas... Sounds like a blow torch and when it is going at that great power, it is throwing the flame out to the sides rather than up.

Great burner !
This burner works great, I’ve had one before and needed to replace it I’m glad I found this on Amazon. Perfect for wood burning fireplaces with a natural gas ignighter. Strong flame easy to adjust with your gas valve, can’t recommend this enough!

Great fire starter pipe
This is well designed and sturdily made. Distributes flame fully for at starting the fire. Won’t clog up due to orifice locations.
