National Hardware N248-435 Door Stops, 4", White

Perfect for stopping a heavy door from sliding closed. We've tried everything from wedge to bucket door stops...they were clunky, difficult to wedge or just got in the way. Our home is very modern, all white, heavy doors with glass tile floors. Nothing would stay in place. so we had to find something minimalistic, white, and rugged enough to hold but sleek enough to be invisible. Check marks on all the above. Easy install. Stays in place. Keeps door in whatever position we want - even partial open. Light gray rubber with white hardware keeps them unobtrusive. Only thing better (I didn't take off points because it didn't claim this feature) would be a quick release lever. No big deal.

It replace my 25 years old door stopper, it is good looking and best quality . easy to kick it up and down. I will buy it again.

Well, it was an easy install. Bathrooms, mosaic tile floor, heavy steel doors. I took note of others complaining of sliding and mounted just a tiny bit lower so it kicks out just a bit at the bottom. When the weight of the door comes against it, the corner of the rubber foot squishes just a bit and it seems to hold. So far. I'm not counting on long term for these, the metal is extremely light, it almost feels like chrome plated plastic. We'll see how they survive. I'll purchase some replacement feet for them if they last that long and get back here and edit, but at first look I'm not overly confident in the quality here.

I needed this for my garage door, since we often have our hands full when going in or out that door. This thing has been wonderful, especially when we had to remove some old appliances and bring new ones in. It only took about 5 minutes to install and it works great. It's easy to put down and back up with your foot, so no bending down is needed. It also looks pretty nice, even though it's rarely actually visible.Definitely recommend this for anyone who regularly needs the door held open for things.

This door stopped worked better than I thought it would. We struggled with a plastic wedge doorstop for many years because it was not attached to the door and would get misplaced; and even if it was in it's regular storage spot it took at least 15-20 seconds and two hands to get it and prop the house-garage door open. When we move to a new house the house-garage door had a larger gap between the door and floor and the old wedge wasn't big enough. I was shopping for a larger wedge when Amazon suggested this kickdown door stop. It is SO much better. It is attached to the door and can be engaged and disengaged with one foot while your hands are full of stuff. The only thing to be careful of is to make sure you attach the kickdown to the door so that the rubber or plastic tip contacts the floor in the right spot. If you position the kickdown too high or too low on the door, the tip won't meet the floor at the correct angle for maximum hold. However, that position is not too difficult to determine. And the price is great.

Easy to install, but it broke after only a couple months of use. Lightweight, not durable.

Simple, effective and reliable. The spring-loaded type where you press down on a pedal can work loose, and don't work if the floor is uneven. This one just digs in harder when pushed. Superb.

A bargain price for a sturdy door stop. Replaced a plastic bracket one which broke so this one's here to stay.
