Black DiamondN719 Silverplated Fiddle Strings, Medium

Buyer beware, these strings are teetotal CRAP!! And it's hard to understand because Black Diamond makes really great electric guitar strings, comparable to Ernie ball, and that's a huge compliment! But, back to these fiddle strings...what's wrong with them you ask? better to ask what's right with them...the G string is raspy and overpowering, so is the D string...the A and E strings have half of the projection of the G and D, a really noticeable difference in volume...to make matters worse, the A string isn't even wound... I guess that's why they're 7 bucks a set, while even a barely useable and/or acceptable set will usually run at least 20-25 bucks....these are subpar in every way!!

I have gotten Black Diamond strings before and loved them, but this time I noticed they were extremely long. After taking it to a music store, I was told that I had been sent strings gauged for guitar, hence the extra length and extra thickness. At first they sounded fine, but after playing them for a bit, the lower strings especially sound awful.

These strings were too long for a violin. I had to buy a new set and throw these away. They are for a guitar, so beware if you are buying them for a violin.
