R1234YF Can Tap, 1/2’’ ACME to 1/4’’ SAE Dispenser Valve AC Refrigerant Bottle Opener, Fits for R12 R22 Refrigerant Charging Hose

I bought this tap cause my R1234yf gauge connection line wasn't opening the valve for the R1234yf can. So i bought this tap so I can remedy the issue. Well... didn't really work, not out of the box. I had to remove the rubber gasket for it to puncture through the valve in the honeywell R1234yf can. I can't be 100% sure if it is the Tap's fault or honeywell design. I will update in the future if I can figure out the tap was the issue or the honeywell cans, cause R1234yf is still new in the auto industry

It worked, and it’s a good option because finding these in stores can be pretty difficult. I believe this is supposed to be for the puncture style cans, and not the self sealing ones. The supply stores near me only seemed to have the self sealing cans, but I still got it to work. For one of the two cans, I did have to trim a bit of the gasket near the top of the can (not on the tool).But anyway, if you are using the tool as intended (or maybe not even) it will do the job, and my A/C is blowing cold again.

Threads were poor quality. Had a hard time getting it to bite onto the can threads and attach. After several times it seemed to attach decently but when dispensing the Freon, it started leaking all around the threads and would not reseal. We lost the whole can and that is not what we wanted to happen…. Returned and going elsewhere.

Did exactly what I needed it to do. R1234yf is reversed thread....

It has an R12 fitting right hand thread,
