Makes for an excellent Sunday school craft! We used sharpies and it was just perfect. Cuts well, very durable, layers are easy to see, light texture still allows for you to write on it nicely.

I do hand copying of New Testament manuscripts as a hobby. It can be a sticky trick to export papyri directly from Egypt. I have had them "get lost."So, ... I order from these chaps. They were on time, in good shape, and there is a smoothness to these that make them a better quality than I have used before. I am definately going to order again.Thank you!

The markers worked well on the papyrus. I didn't realize it was as fragile as it is but I'm still glad I got it and it worked perfectly for our purposes and looked super cool!

This papyrus paper is wonderful to work with, I used it on a shoji screen project. value, durability all A+, the only negative is the actual dimension of each piece. while the overall dimensions do not exceed 12x16 or another of the other sizes offered, nearly 40% were well smaller than the stated dimensions. many smaller by as much as 2 inches. If the actual dimension is critical, expect to purchase other offerings in the 50+ pack sizes, as those also have dimension deficiencies too.

This papyrus has a nice light color and fine grain. It has a natural texture so it's not so smooth as modern paper but great as an art material. I experimented a bit and found that the best sort of pen for writing/drawing on it is a bamboo pen, which is probably the nearest easily available thing to a traditional reed pen. I used Speedball Superblack India ink but most any ink should work. Metal nib dip pens tend to dig in and leave an irregular line even when they don't but the nib of a bamboo pen glides right over the surface texture as I'm sure ancient pens did. Watercolor absorbs a little irregularly but similar to the way it would on coarse watercolor paper. It's a great art material with a unique natural texture and transparency that you know has and will last for thousands of years, unlike many papers.

I was able to cut this into over 50 decent sized strips so that each of my students had a strip of papyrus to write hieroglyphs on. It was a really great activity for the Egypt section of our world history course.

Real Egyptian papyrus, this is great! I'm going to use this in a history of the Bible class and let the kids write on the same material that John and Paul used.The papyrus came on time, well packaged, in great condition.
