I’ve had this fitted and it only works intermittently? What could be the problem

Hello, this is quite normal. It controls the heat and due to the electronic regulation of the temperature. It depends on which setting you have chosen, if power level is 1to5 the rings will go on and off quite regularly, if power level is 6to9 they will stay on a bit longer.

What about control buttons. what are they made of...how are they sealed against spills...what happens if a HOT skillet rest on them while cooking?

This electric cooktop does not have buttons as it works by a sensor touch control, these sensors are underneath the vitro ceramic, meaning that you do not need to worry about spills as it won't affect the functioning of the stove.

I purchased this as well in 2020 and when I had to use all 4 rings on 9 it fused the hob. I had to purchase a new one as it kept shutting my main fuse box off. Definitely a fault in this product as it was the first time I used all rings that hot. Hope this helps and you took out the extra insurance policy.
