Since using this product my last room doesn’t stink like sewage. And it was very easy to install.

I bought these to stop the smell we had coming from our drainage pipe in the washer room. It was easy to install and worked pretty good, but there was still a little gap around the hose so I added some silicone to really seal it up.After doing more research & realizing that smell was Hydrogen Sulfide coming back into our house? A serious gas that could actually kill you over time? I just decided to fix the problem but cutting the wall open to observe the actual problem which I could immediately see was a vent line that bypassed the P-Trap going to the sewer line. Again, this is a serious issue because if you can smell it? Even once in a while, that means those gasses are seeping back into the house 24/7. You just can’t smell it all the other days, & this gas can make you very sick or even kill you. I started to develop a lupus type butterfly rash on my face from these gasses that immediately went away once the main problem was corrected. I posted some pics of where the problem was for all of you who wanted to see.Hope this helps-

This device is what I was looking for. Laundry hoses do not fit tight so no wonder there is a smell present. No more! This device is simple but works great.

I thought it’s standard size. Big for my washer drain hose.

Installed this to create a seal for my washer to prevent sewage methane from entering the house. However, the material is a bit too soft, and the inner opening doesn’t form a complete seal with the drain pipe. Will try using caulk to improve it."

Put this in the washing machine drain pipe and no more sewer gas, saved a lot of money by not having to get a plumber in.

I got these to get rid of bad smell coming from my washing machine drain. I was looking online for a solution and found these. I then checked the measurement of the opening in the wall and confirmed with the one one the website. When received, I found out that the item received is almost 0.7 cm smaller in diameter. It almost fell inside the pipe and wasn't sealing at all. I decided to return them for refund. As a short term solution, I am sealing the area around the drainage hose with trash bag... I really hate to return an item but I had no need for those.If the measurements are accurate enough, that would be a good purchase since it would do function properly with good price and relatively ease of installation. I may 3D print mine...
