Checkbook fits perfectly and even has the plastic flap for duplicate checks, however the reason for my two star rating is when you add your check register on the opposite side then the pen holder is in the way. If you peel the pen holder back, so your check register lays flat, then your pen sticks awkwardly out the side. This could have been a great product, if just a little bit more thought had gone into the design. On a positive note, the red is beautiful.

I had been using a 10 year old free check holder that came with my checks. It was cheap vinyl, and on its last days so I decided to buy a new one.I like this, simply because it's an improvement over my old one. It has a few shortcomings.The inside flap is too short. It stops just above the date line so unless you write very small, writing the date will be a little awkward. I also think there could have been a bit more allowance for the width of the checks. The item will not close. If you use the pen holder the cover is even more bulky and awkward.I don't intend to use the pen holder since I always carry pens with me anyway. But for anyone who wants to use it, just a heads up on the problem. Perhaps the pen holder should have been on the outside.Perhaps the leather will loosen up over time and the cover will stay closed. I still like it. It's okay for the money.

I bought this to store 2 unused checkbooks, for that purpose it works wonderfully.-The leather is a lot shinier than depicted, which is why I took off some stars, I wanted a more matte look.-The pen holder placement is useless. It puts stress on the stitching when you put it as pictured which I assume will wear down the cover and cause tearing. But since I don't care for the feature I didn't factor this into my rating.

It is thicker than I expected. The pen holder would work better on the outside of the flap. I was also expecting a brighter blue. I wanted a color that made it easier to see. But, it is priced good and it fills the need.

I really like this checkbook. Great quality and stylish. It will last a long time. I also like the ideal that I can store cash and other credit cards into it. Altjough they said a len does not come with, it would have been nice. I recommend to buy this product.

I love this checkbook register cover. It is slim and fits nicely in my cross body bag. It holds my checks and register perfectly. I love the pen holder. It's a soft leather and looks like it will last a long time. I highly recommend this cover if you want something to hold your checks, the register, and a pen!

When selecting a checkbook cover, I was deciding between a couple of options. This option pictures a pen with ever cover, but doesn't say anywhere that the pen is NOT INCLUDED. The pen is not included. So, if you're thinking this option and another are pretty equal, except this one has a handy pen for a couple bucks more - go with the cheaper option, because there's no pen, it's just a couple bucks more for a cover.

I needed a checkbook for my job as treasurer of a club. I have duplicate checks and this checkbook has a flap that goes in between checks to prevent the carbon paper effect on subsequent checks. The book looks and feels like good quality.

Exactly what I expected. I leave the pen holder on the outside, so it closes better.
