Beware! This Medibot ROM leg brace is unsafe!
The first two pictures show that the brace has slipped down out of place and is around my ankle, providing no immobilization for my knee and leg. If I were to lose my balance and fall, the new revision surgery could be compromised.Day 2 of use: I bought this Medibot ROM brace, as an affordable alternative to to try out from my 2nd and recent revision of my quad tendon repair/patella attachment/removal of scar tissue, etc. My surgeon came across this brace online, while trying to to help me not spend too much money, since my insurance refused to replace my old brace, and he recommended we give it a shot. THE COMPLETE IMMIBILIZATION OF THIS LEG during the first six weeks of my recovery is crucial for the repair holding and for my safety when walking to the restroom (a very short distance). This brace is cheaply made. The are various reference pictures above: Here's why I recommend NOT purchasing it:1) The red lock on the lengthening mechanism does not actually lock your selected height adjustments in place; it easily slides up and down while "locked."2) All of the pads that are sitting against the skin to help keep the brace in place, are not "sticky" at all. The inside of the pads against the skin should provide resistance to the brace slipping out of place and down the leg. I've had the brace for 24 hours and every single time I stand up and take a couple of steps, the brace slides down and rests on the top of my foot, no matter how tight I have each strap pulled.3) The mechanism that locks each strap into place across the leg, is not easily buckled or unbuckled. See the picture for detail. Another reviewer mentioned it breaking quickly during the first couple days of use, therefore rendering the brace useless.4) This is my 6th ROM leg brace for my 5th post-op recovery, between both of my legs (it's complicated) Every single brace the hospitals ordered for me to wear home and post-op, have ALL been very cheaply made, poorly designed, and do not immobilize the leg for recovery long term. I have a graveyard of these immobilizers! This one will be returned for a full refund and I'll have to wear an old one (the best one I've had is a DonJoy made ROM leg brace) until I can find a safe leg brace solution. I will advise my orthopedic surgeon that this brace is not a good product.I will wear this brace and keep trying to adjust it to stay in position, but I'm quite certain I will have to return it and purchase a more expensive and reliable leg brace.

Good stabilizer for knee fracture
Good packing, arrived on time. It takes a bit of time to get the hinge and locking controls adjusted. The little knobs are plastic so I feel like they are going to break but I was wrong and holds up nicely. I had a previous one that was all metal and was easier but this works. The only other issue I had is that it felt like it was always sliding down.

Exceeded my expectations!!
Honestly was a little nervous after reading some of the bad reviews but this was a great replacement for the one provided with my insurance! Im a d1 collegiate basketball player so my recovery is extremely important to me and my career. This brace works perfectly! None of the clips have broken, its not as heavy as the one i had previously. It doesnt slip as long as you tighten the straps correctly. Honestly amazing and if you're looking for a cheap alternative this is perfect.

Good brace, but a few issues
I will start by saying this is the most comfortable brace I have used within this price range. It does offer the support I need and has helped a lot. The quick adjustment clips and straps are a godsend. So much easier than traditional braces. Now on to the issues I have. The padding is always coming off. It does comes with extra sticky things to help with reattaching the pads but it does get annoying. The biggest issue I have are the locks for adjusting the length of the supports. The locks simply are not strong enough. You can easily make them longer or shorter without even unlocking it. So I have to constantly shift the brace because it won't stay locked where I want it. Thankfully adjusting is quick and easy. Just annoying that it won't stay put. And yes my knee is super swollen in these photos. Torn mcl and meniscus and 3 bone spurs.

Upper Calf strap to long
There is a likely manufacturing or design defect with this brace. Overall it seemed well constructed except for one vital error. There are 3 large pads, two for the thigh above the knee and 1 large and one smaller pad below the knee. All of the large pads have the same length of strap but as one fits below the knee where the calf is normally smaller than the thigh, it is simply to long to allow for a tight fit. This one flaw defeats the function of an "offloader" brace and made this brace a failure for me. If you have very large thighs with very large calves it might work for you but if they're average or skinny this strap can not be properly tightened.

good stability
This brace provides good stability for weak/unstable leg. Fairly easy to use, enables walking with good support felt. Only complaint is friction clip at #4 adjustment doesn't want to stay locked which can cause bottom calf support to loosen. Here's a Hint: To prevent velcro straps from adhering to unwanted places when not in use I slipped 2 inch jeweler's plastic bags over each end, which made it much easier to put on without velcro sticking everywhere. All in all satisfied with purchase.

This is the brace ortho doctors use
I broke my left patella 5 weeks ago. When I went to the ER they gave me the wrong brace. They gave me an immobilizer that is not adjustable. The doctor wants me to start being able to move the leg. But, insurance will not pay for another brace. Since my daughter had 4 knee surgeries growing up, I knew a little about knee braces. I printed the info off about this brace and took it to my last appointment . The ortho doctor said this is the exact brace they use for their patients. He said the price was considerably less than what they would charge for it. I am thrilled to have the brace locked at 10 degrees so I can pull my foot through as I walk. I am 5 foot 7 inches tall. 164 lb. I have chunky thighs and calves but this works great for me.
