Good stuff. Increased chatoyance!
Used on birch veneer door before staining with golden pecan and finishing with general high performance semi-gloss.

Makes difference before staining
This Wood conditioner really makes a big difference before staining. It helps the stain go on evenly and prevents that patchy, uneven look that often happens with bare wood. After applying it, the wood absorbs color much more consistently, giving a smoother and more professional finish. Especially on softer woods, it really improves the final result. Simple step, but it changes everything in the outcome.

Must needed item for staining
This item is hard to find in stores in California, specifically from this brand. This was used for a woodstain wash on a staircase handrail that was painted white by the previous owners. We tried to stain the wood without it after sanding the rail and it did not work out well. This made the difference and the color applied so much better. I never stained wood before so this is coming from someone with zero experienc. It came out looking professional. It is easy to apply. We saved ourselves hundreds in updating our outdated handrail.

Works amazing! Made my cheap pine look expensive.
Most of us that have tried to stain pine know, it's a horrible experience. The varathane wood conditioner made my cheap pine board look amazing. I tested first with and without and the difference is night and day. I highly recommend, it dried quickly and the price was right. Take a look at my mantel piece in the video... it turned out amazing and I am an amateur and am sure I did 100 things wrong. Using the Varathane was definitely one of the things I did right!

This did great at reducing the blotchiness that often comes with staining. Easy to apply and quick to dry to allow for staining.

Worked very well!
Worked very well! I purchased to use on birch plywood and hopefully avoid splotching of the stain. It worked great! Easy to apply. Dries quickly and 30 minutes later I applied a gel stain to the treated plywood. It turned out great!
