Expensive but excellent support, structure, wear
Plenty of toe room, very good support laterally. I believe it is one of the best shoes for those of us concerned about plantar fasciitis. Dreadful expensive though. Close second I think is the Brooks Addiction walker for some 60 dollars less (list price). I alternate between the two and like each for slightly different reasons.. My sense is that the Dunham is a stronger - better structured - shoe and will last longer. I'll update if this proves to be the case one way or the other.Problem: I liked the shoe, per the above description. But after only 7 or 8 wearings, the little strap that holds one of the metal eyelets through which the shoe laces feed broke. It did not look like a repair was possible. Outside the return date, discouraging. On the good side, the seller sent a replacement pair based on my review of the problem without being asked, and I have not seen any other reviewer note a similar problem, nor have I had problems with two other Exeters I purchased later. I'll put it down to a manufacturing anomaly that was dealt with quickly. and professionally - excellent customer service. After more than a year of wear on Exeters in all weather - no further issues. These are the best walking shoes I've ever worn. Highly recommended. I wear a 9.5D or 10D depending on shoe design, and for the Exeter if is the 10D for me.

Durable and Comfortable Shoe
I've had these shoes for nearly 2 years now. They've held up well to fairly constant use. They were comfortable out of the box and have remained so throughout. The leather upper still looks good and the soles have not worn down significantly. Useful and comfortable both in daily use and when hiking trails.A very versatile and comfortable shoe.

Most Comfortable Waterproof Shoes I Have Owned.
At the age of 70 and having worn mainly athletic shoes for the past five years (retired), I find my feet generally do not like leather shoes...any leather shoes. Still, I wanted some walking shoes that were waterproof, or at least water resistant. I have been wearing these shoes for around a week now, several hours a day, and, so far, really like them. While some reviewers say their Dunhams required no break-in, mine have required a bit, but that is probably because I am so used to athletic shoes. Even so, the break in has gone very well and they were reasonably comfortable from the start. At this point I hardly notice I am wearing them. I have not had them out in heavy rain at this point, but have worn them in drizzling rain and they have kept my feet dry. Anyhow, they are the best water proof shoes I have owned and they are very easy to walk in.Update:06/03/2018 - Very heavy rain today. Wore the Dunhams into and out of stores all afternoon, probably close to a full hour in the direct rain. Not one drop appears to have made it into the shoes themselves. I was careful to avoid puddles that were possibly deeper than the top of the shoe. Very satisfied at this point with the water resistance.

Nice shoe
Very comfortable and looks great. I like that they will take a shine. Seem to be very sturdy. Will be wearing them during our holiday to France 🇫🇷 Have not tested the waterproof abilities. I have not worn them in the rain and I can attest they are definitely waterproof. Love these shoes.

Snug fit little comfort
I was hoping they were going to be as comfortable as there 968s but not even close . Sorry but they did not live up to My expectations, even with new insoles . Good thing I go them for only $50.s

Style is somewhat more narrow than some other Dunham shoes - not good if you need a wide toe box
Shoes are well made. Style is somewhat more narrow than some other Dunham shoes - not good if you need a wide toe box.

Good looking, appear to be well built
The shoes are good looking and appear to be well built. They have a non-marking sole and the New Balance "Roll-bar" to keep your foot as square as possible to the ground. They have a leather upper and a man-made lining, all the stitching is "real" and looks substantial. Plenty of room in the toe-box for wide feet. I like the steel rings for the shoe laces, it makes them easy to cinch and loosen. There is plenty of padding around the top edge of the shoe, chafing on your ankle shouldn't be a problem. I would call them a mid-weight shoe, they feel neither light nor heavy; they do feel substantial though.
