I learned Clairfontaine years ago in graduate school from a Belgian classmate, and have loved the quality of the paper since. French ruled (Seyes) paper has really helped me retrain my writing to be more beautiful. Clairefontaine paper is very smooth to write on. Yes, it is pricey, so this is not for the budget minded. This size of journal is a great size for a purse or diary pages. Staplebound won't lay flat like wirebound, but this is still a handy journal.

I tell you what I love this thing, I am super picky about notebooks too. I love the size of this one, it's just right for my journal- not to big nor is it to small. I like that it doesn't have a little strap on it because they bunch up under it when I write and I hate that. The paper is great for fountain pens which is what I use. So there, I hope this was useful.

The ad says it is for 10 notebooks and all that you receive is 1. It is good quality paper and had it not been a misleading description I would not be so upset by the purchase. It would not be a bargain to buy one at this price but not horrible either. I would have went with a different purchase had I known. I hope this helps someone be more informed before they buy

Very nice notebook for use with fountain pens.

Great paper…NOT A5. It’s like an inch wider and doesn’t fit in my A5 cover. Have to return.

I don't know how to express how beautiful of a writing experience Clairefontaine paper yields. If you are a fountain pen user, this paper is a must. Whether it is Clairefontaine, Rhodia, Tomoe, or something with similarily high regards, you will never want to turn back to other papers again (although Clairefontaine is my favorite (extremely smooth)). I've always used Midori paper with my fountain pens and it's gotten the job done, but not well. I automatically feel like I have found the perfect resource to finish my trifecta (pen, ink, paper) when I put my nib to this paper. If you are on the fence about the price, don't be - it is worth every penny. Using fountain pens in many regards is a luxury, so why would you opt for a bleedy, feathery, horrible experience on cheap paper? Take the plunge. If you are NOT a fountain pen or rollerball user - don't bother. I imagine that this paper is way too expensive to use carelessly and throw around just to use pencils on it (also, it's often too smooth to use pencils with successfully). I cannot recommend it highly enough. One downside: no color choice, BUT that is part of the fun. It's a surprise every time. In my mind that is actually a PLUS. (Side note: the pen in the picture I included is a Platinum Cool)

This paper works really well with fountain pens, even my very flexy pen that lays down a ton of ink.

I bought it by mistake but eneded up using it anyway. The paper is so smooth and it's a fountain pen-friendly paper.
