Frost

This is one of my favorite Enslaved albums. Banger from start to finish.

I won't bore you with album details and why this is a great album like a traditional review. The rundown is this: Excellent album, all vocals in traditional Old Norse and some modern Norwegian, a must have Black/Folk/Viking metal album, a must have Enslaved album, one of the top 5 best early Norwegian Black Metal Albums ever (in the author's opinion) For the product itself, I got it quicker than expected with virtually no damage save a chip in the album case due in part to my PO provider.

I loved this CD. it sounds similar to the older Amon Amarth to me, but it has it's own twist. I got this Cd as my first Enslaved cd and i must say, i am not disappointed with it. If you like Viking Metal, i would definitely suggest getting this one at some point.

The cd seems basically perfect. real norse sound and rare cd is strikingly beautiful and eerily yet steadily beautiful in parts mixed with a truly strong heavy concentration.

Arrived in great condition, equally as great music.

Excellent, groundbreaking black metal from the 90's. Enslaved should be considered as one of the greats alongside Mayhem and Emporer.

there's only a handful of bands that get me as excited as Enslaved! they combine blazing fast drumming with excellent and memorable riffs to create the ultimate in destructive and majestic Viking metal! they write amazingly epic songs of apocalyptic battles fought on misty shores and distant mountains; with an emphasis on violence, bloodshed, and an affiliation with ancient Norse gods. all things in the true Viking spirit, then. the music on Frost is usually blindingly fast and raw, but with lots of subtle touches that add a dark flourish to the proceedings and keep it interesting for the listener. there are a few keyboard passages popping up for atmospheric effect and even a mouthharp makes an appearance! but even with all these different elements, Enslaved's music remains rooted in the frozen mystical metal world. a world where a thirst for blood and conquest rule, and where victory awaits!

Back in the early days of Black Metal's rebirth, the bands were all going in different directions. Enslaved, like many of those early bands, were pioneers of a new sound in Black Metal, redefining the 1980's sound into a new 1990's sound. The music is a cold as the album cover indicates. Also during these early times, Trym was drummer for Enslaved before joining Emperor. Highly recommended for the old school Black Metal fan... not highly recommended for unprepared ears.
