Tom Lehrer spent his brief, yet remarkable music career writing and performing brilliant satires that entertained millions. Biting, intelligent, and socially conscious, his songs were intimate commentaries on society and politics in the 1950s and 60s. Originally filmed in September 1967, this rare concert features many of his best-known songs, including "The Elements" and "The Vatican Rag."

Makes Humor Visual
Many of his best hits where you can see him perform them with a live audience!

EXCELLENT!
Tom is wonderful in this amazing and full show. Every song and all the stage patter is hilarious. The Danish audience definitely DO get the songs and they DO laugh a lot like a hip American audience would contrary to what another review stated. The picture, camera work and sound quality is perfect. To see Tom's expressions while he sings, plays and talks add so much to the performance; it's delightful. What's really amazing is the fact he can remember all the convoluted and detailed lyrics of his songs; he plays a mean piano too. This gifted genius has to be seen and heard often. THANKS TOM!

A very rare Tom Lehrer LIVE concert in Copenhagen
It was nice to see TL at his prime. Until viewing this DVD I only have seen him in photographs. The only thing that I regret is that while what is here is great and I'm happy to own and enjoy, it's unfortunate that it is only in mono and B&W, but that's how technology goes. Perhaps at some time in the future, a properly colorized and stereophonic edition will become available.

Loved finding this
I bought this for my 40 year old son. He listened to these songs on a kids radio program when he was young and like the songs then. He was excited when he received this or Christmas. Have not watched it yet.

Great to see Tom as well as hear him
If you have the records, you've heard all the songs. There isn't even anything really different in the presentation, which you often get with a live performance. The only thing that really sets this apart is being able to see him perform, as opposed to just listening. That and it's fun watching the Danish audience, many of whom seem perplexed at the content of many of the songs.

Clever beyond words and still relevant .
Been a big Lehrer fan for ages. Never knew there was a video concert. First time I was happy to give Prime $5 to buy.

Tom Lehrer in Concert
I first heard of Tom Lehrer in 1954 at a party my freshman year atUMASS in Amherst, Massachusetts. He was the rage of the college circuit with his erereverant lyrics to his original music. Any Tom Lehrer performance is a pleasant trip in nostalgia for me.

This guy's funny
Tom Lehrer is like Randy Newman's deranged uncle - simple yet politically incorrect piano songs smartly done.
