Big Boy 4014 Returns to Steam (Pentrex) (DVD)

This DVD was very well put together, even to the point a 4 year old grandson is mezmorised and looks forward to watching it everyday.

Pentrex has long been known for its quality railfan videos, shot using high quality cameras and smooth editing. However this video doesn't live up to their usual standards. Several clips were shot using web cams or drones and the quality just doesn't match the quality of a high-end video camera. Pentrex used to shoot its videos with multiple cameras, and sometimes helicopters. But this video gives me the feeling that it was shot using a single person who had to hustle from one location to another. I chased the May, 2019, return from Rock Springs, WY, to Medicine Bow, WY, and there were several awesome photo opportunities along this stretch that weren't included or were only briefly shown. 4014 and 844 leaving Rawlins on May 17 was one of the most spectacular steam displays I've ever seen but it was barely shown. Other spots were skipped entirely. If you're a diehard fan of UP's Big Boys, this is a good tape. But for the casual fan there are higher quality DVD's on the market.

Very well done video about UP 4014. The menu really adds to the enjoyment.

Very disappointed that the producers of this pricey video on BigBoy 4014 did not put chapters on this video. Very hard to find stuff that way.
