Great Textbook
The examples in this book are straightforward, and the equations are well organized. A word of advice to anyone who buys this book for a Thermodynamics class: don't rush through the homework. Sit down, read through the problem carefully, try to find a similar example in the book, and if necessary, read through the part of the chapter that corresponds with what you're trying to solve. The book does a great job of explaining things; just be patient and willing to do a bit of reading.

This book made me cry, but at least I can explain how fast heat moves through a wall
My thermodynamics professor warned me that the thermo+heat transfer class would be painful, but I underestimated him. It was painful, and this book didn't make it less so. I did read through it and solved a bunch of the textbook problems, but sometimes, I wish I didn't take that class. It would have saved my brain from spending endless hours reading through chapters of this book between 1-5AM trying to understand the basic concept of how heat moves. Eventually I wrapped my head around it thanks to this book, but if you can avoid it, don't take whatever class requires this book. Save yourself from the pain.

Very clearly written, made heat trasnfer approachable and even fun
I rented this book a little over a year ago and now regret not buying it. Cengel breaks down concepts and is very direct about the various mechanisms, and the models to describe them. One issue is formulas and tables are often formatted like images. I found playing with page width could solve this.

Great Book
Great book but with typos

Content is great, equations difficult or impossible to read.
As a professor of mechanical engineering who teaches heat transfer, I find the content of this book is great. Occasionally, it may be a little too good - the book derives many forms of the finite volume equations, which the students may use instead of learning how to derive the equations themselves. But overall, it's great. It would be a 5-star rating if it weren't for the formatting of the equations; they are in a much, much smaller font than the main text. In the Kindle app on an Amazon Fire HD tablet, or on a Samsung Android tablet, the reader can select the equation and chose Zoom, which usually makes it readable. However, on the Windows Kindle app, the equations cannot be expanded, which makes part of the book a mystery. Can this not be fixed?

Cannot believe they make books without a binding
What the heck. $140 and it doesn't even come with a binding. Un believable. Whoever thought this was a good idea thought wrong.

All of chapter 3 is missing....
Good book, but all of chapter 3 is missing when I was gonna work out problems for my midterm
