Awesome
Have I mentioned how much I love this series? It is so good. I can't remember the last time I read a series where each book was equally awesome. I love all the characters in this book. Gabi is a great leading lady and you can see why everyone around her loves her as well. Marcello is dreamy and you can't help but love him. Luca and Lia are also amazing and I hope that we get another trilogy with their story. There is once again a lot of adventure in this story, Bergren weaves the historical elements in so nicely that you hardly realize your learning something as you're reading. While the story takes place in 1344 Italy, you don't really feel like you're reading a historical novel. Bergren really brings everything to life. The plot is great and executed well, you have to keep reading to find out what is going to happen and how Gabi is every going to get out of the trouble she finds herself in. There is even a bit of a love triangle in this one, which added a lot to the story. The series is awesome and keeps you reading; you love the characters and setting and any series that is this good deserves five stars. My only complaint is that I wanted a tiny bit more at the end, and epilog or something. I wanted to know what happened with certain characters. I also wanted to see more of Lia and Luca in the story, they both were awesome in book two and I missed seeing them in this book. I really do hope that Bergren writes a series about them.If you haven't read these books...DO IT. It's such a fun series that anyone would enjoy.

TORRENT Tips the Scales of Awesome
It's not easy to write a spoiler-free review for the third book in a series -- especially considering how the preceding novels (WATERFALL & CASCADE) left readers hanging, drooling, and begging to know what was going to happen next! But because I've loved traveling to medieval Italy with Gabi and Lia (I'm practically in mourning at the thought that my adventures with The She-Wolves of Siena could be coming to an end) I'm bound and determined not to spoil the journey for those of you who have not yet dipped your hearts into the River of Time.I don't know what it is about these novels that makes me love them so dearly. Is it the author's fantastic craft? The heart-twisting imagination? The dashing Italian knights? The feeling that, at any moment, anyone -- or everyone -- I've grown to love over the course of these three books could die? Well, it's all that and so much more. It's love. Honest-to-goodness, true book love -- for Torrent, as well as Waterfall and Cascade, the other two books in the River of Time series.Inserting fresh intrigues, new twists, and secret brotherhoods into the third installment of this romantic adventure, the author grows the presence of newer characters (like Lord Greco) and forces the existing cast (especially Gabi) to mature emotionally through adventures of both a physical nature and of the heart. Torrent is the perfect conclusion to this trilogy -- not only because it satisfies on every level, but because it keeps you hoping that the younger She-Wolf of Siena (Lia) will get a series of her own sometime soon. (Hint, hint, wink, wink to Lisa T. Bergren and the Publishing Powers That Be.) I adore these books and plan to read the entire series again as soon as I get the chance!Rapturous romance and spine-tingling adventure await you within Lisa T. Bergren's medieval Italy, so don't wait another minute to let yourself get swept away by the River of Time.

A little disappointing, but still a solid ending
So I was seriously pumped to read this book. Cascade was one of my favorite reads of the year. Unfortunately, Torrent didn't quite live up to the first two for me.First, I have to tell you that I almost always don't like the last book in a series as well as the other ones. Examples:1. The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King2. Mockingjay3. Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows4. Percy Jackson and the Olympians: The Last OlympianAnd those are some of my all-time favorite series there, folks. I think it has to do with the mere fact that it's the last one, and I have a hard time saying goodbye. Needless to say, a finale to a series must blow the pants off me to be ranked as high as the other ones, and I felt like Torrent just wasn't as good. The overarching plot for the series had lost some steam, and I felt like Bergren was stringing us along at the end. The last battle should have been EPIC...but sadly, it was sorta short and measly.Honestly, I feel like the climax comes at the beginning of the book. Gabi gets sent to Roma, kidnapped by the people of Firenze, to marry Lord Greco. Her trying to escape was the most exciting bit of the entire book, and I felt like it should have been the end of the series. Also, there was NOT enough Lia and Luca in this book! Gabi was separated from everyone for quite a bit of the book, and then when she returned, she was wrapped up in Marcello. I know this book is supposed to be about Gabi and Marcello's story, but I just never found them quite as interesting as Lia and Luca, whose humor I greatly missed in Torrent. Then there's the issue of the blurb mentioning The Black Plague. I was really hoping that we'd get to see lots of sick people, and there would be this threat of everyone dying of disease and all that jazz. Unfortunately, the Black Death is hardly mentioned in the book at all. Gabi and her family worry about it as something to come about in the future, but it's not really part of the main plotline. I was disappointed. However, even with all my complaints, I couldn't deny that this is a really great book. The pacing was just ride, as per usual. The action was snappy, and Gabi is a good MC. The romance took a bit of a corny tone, but I could forgive it, especially with how Bergren dealt with marriage and sex and the maturity of deciding on settling down. Gabi deals with some pretty weighty topics as a 17-year-old, but this felt legit to me, as she's been thrust into a time when it was acceptable to be married at 15.Bergren has said on her website that she would like to continue writing books in this series, telling Lia's story, but nothing has been contracted yet. I'm REALLY hoping that we get to read Tributary, the planned fourth book. I would pretty much die if I got to read about Lia and Luca from Lia's POV.

I love this series to death
I loveeee this book. I love this series to death, but this is my ultimate favourite book!!!! If I could only ever read one book for the rest of my life, it would be this one. The balance of romance and adventure is perfect, and it is just AMAZING! Everything I have ever wanted in a book is in here, and if I could change just one thing, I would put myself in this book... SO JEALOUS!!!

Probably the best in the series
This is the third book in the River of Time series. And to me, it was just perfect. I have thoroughly enjoyed reading this series and had extremely high hopes for this third instalment. My high hopes were definitely met… and then some!Seriously, I cannot praise this series enough for its amaizingness. It has that rare ability to keep the reader completely glued to the book… guessing what would come next and being completely shocked and taken aback when it did! I feel like I might have just read my new favourite series… ever. It’s hard to talk about without giving away spoilers from the first two books but let’s just say the she wolves of Sienna are back for a whole new crazy time travelling medieval adventure with their family and their men behind them. There’s more battles, more romance, more medieval storylines that really do cut these books very close to a fine line between YA and adult fiction.I feel like I’m just repeating everything I said in my reviews for the first two books but I do feel just the same way about all three books. They are all fantastic and absolute literary triumphs in my opinion.I know the author is writing a fourth (originally unplanned) book in this series and normally I wouldn’t want a series that is perfect already to be added to, in case adding to it makes it not as good anymore. But in this case I am desperate to read more in this world. I think there is definitely scope for more storyline and I have every confidence in this amazing author to pull off another brilliant story.

I loved this series (and the ones to follow) it was definitely an easy read because I'm not a YA, but the story and characters were amazing!!

This novel in particular was my favourite. It was full of suspense
The "River of times" series of books were very entertaining reads. This novel in particular was my favourite. It was full of suspense, humour, action and romance. I thoroughly recommend this page turning book, but first it's best to read book 1 "Waterfall" and book 2 "Cascade" to fully appreciate "Torrent".
