3D Systems 350416 iSense for iPad Air

One thing to note first is that this does not do small detailed objects. You need a Laser Scanner to do that. But people and larger objects this is PERFECT for it. My only issues is (and its Apple's Fault) needed a new bracket for it for my NEW iPad Air 2...It is easy to use and can capture people and larger objects. Only requirement is they are still.. I did a very nice scan of a Teapot (its the size of a nice sized Kettle) that is shaped like a swan. When put through the render process it actually came out very nice. Cannot wait till I get my new bracket so I can put my iPad Air 2 through the paces.. One thing Im going to try to do is have a person lie down and Ill scan them that way .. Have them flip over and merge the two meshes...Will be interesting...

Very hard to use for brace

I tried my best to be skeptical about it because there aren't much reviews I can find about it so here being the first to let you know that this works horribly. I've be trying my best for a month to get this to work in the best lighting condition and it still does not scan neatly no matter what size the object. Sometimes you just stand still scanning and the scanner loses tracking of the object and freezes the program. There is no sense of accuracy whatsoever. Do not recommend at all

Doesnt work with the calibration app unless you buy from them directly at a price tag of $400. They say it is precalibrated but if that calibration didnt need to be redone every so often why is there an app to do that?? They blocked all devices from connecting to the calibration app and require everyone to provide proof they purchased the device from them otherwise you wont be able to use it even though its their device. This wasnt a requirement before. I would have to say stay away from this company all together. They arent the type of company we all should support by buying their items. You can find a much better company to support instead.

It is a scanner for large objects.After some practice with the scanner, we scanned a portion of our son's favorite climbing tree and sent a ready file to 3d print in Makerbot in less than three hours. The scanner will save in .obj, .stl and .ply which can be quickly converted in 3d freeware Meshlab, CloudCompare, et al.It is an RGB-D instrument, so, it will not work in daylight conditions. The tracking can be tricky until you learn how the scanner "sees" the object. If walking around the object is not possible, scan separate views of the same object and co-register the different files in CloudCompare - All you need is to place some targets around the object and using those as reference. There will be holes to be plugged, but with a little patience and practice the workflow from physical scan to digital or print ready file will be very fast.The maximum scanning area is 1000 cu ft so anything as big as a chair will work well.

We are an architecture firm, bought this Structure Sensor thinking that their promise to be able to scan complete spaces was true. We are truly disappointed that this is not true; this machine has a lot of errors, is not precise and cannot scan any space bigger than 10' x 10', and still is missing a couple of inches.Not good for architectural or engineering purposes, just an expensive toy!We tried to contact several times this company just one week after we bought the Structure Sensor and they would not honor their warranty nor would be of any help.The idea of having a cheap sensor like this one sounds great, but there are tons of issues they have to solve before they keep selling this FIASCO!. We want our money back!

I had bought a structure sensor before for another ipad I own and it worked great. I saw the low price for this isense and bought it too. For some reason, it doesn't work with most of the applications I use, and I get an error message like this picture. I contacted the manufacturer 3d systems and they say it is discontinued.

Started having a ton of issues this week - apparently this version simply isn't made anymore and no longer supported. Thanks, 3D Systems.

Al instalar la aplicación del scaner te aconseja hacer un calibrado y te indica que instales otra aplicación que no es compatible con el Isense, sino con el structure sense. De manera que no puedo calibrarlo. Un fallo duradero teniendo en cuenta que antes de comprarlo ya vi este comentario en la opinión de un comprador hace 6 meses.

It was a used product.Delivery and product where OK and within the time.The scanner works correct but it is a task a have to learn

処分価格？出た当初は、ちょっと買おうか的な値段ではなかった。3Dプリンターを買って、３Dスキャナもフリーとかでないかな？と探してみたけど精度や使い勝手がイマイチ。と、コイツみつけて値段が下がっているにビックリした。アプリもDL復活しているみたいなので購入。他機種へのブラケットは３Dプリンターで印刷できるから一番安いセットをチョイスした。

最近、投げ売りで低価格になっているようです。手軽でいい商品なのに・・・。でもアプリがダウンロードできなくなってる！せっかく購入したのにどうしたものやら。と思っていたのですが、昨日、アプリが復活してました。アプリインストール後、iSenseは簡単に起動、すぐにスキャンできました。まだコツをつかんでいないのでスキャン結果はイマイチでしたが、慣れればそこそこ使えそうです。精度はそれなりといった感じですので、対象物によってはモデリングベースを目的で使えばいいかと思います。
