DMK Box 11A-GPS+

Excellent device. I installed it on my Jeanneau 39i. Wiring documentation on [...]is top notch. Installation was a breeze and I'm not handy person.... Including positioning gps antenna (had to play with it a bit, contrary to logic the lowest point in the cabin had the best signal). All in port side cabin behind wardrobe cabinet. Connecting from iPhone and iPad was easy. I had few questions in the first few weeks and email support was excellent (prompt and spot on). Now I can have instruments on my iPhone anywhere on the boat. When I was doing night passage I left one novice crew in the cockpit and went to lay down in the saloon for a few hours with iPhone next to me showing AWS, AWA, etc. Peace of mind.NOTE: We tried iRegatta app in a few inshore races (about half a dozen) mainly for VMG but found GPS not accurate enough for inshore (small area) racing. It was showing low VMG suggesting course change when wind was on the beam and course mark right in front of us. It's not hardware fault, GPS in DMK Box is as good as it gets. It's just in a small area with wind shifts accuracy of GPS is not enough. Had similar experience with race starts - found human intuition and experience more accurate than software recommendations [at this stage anyway].

DMK Box 11A-GPS+ was easy to connect with our NEXUS network. In infrastructure mode its data is sended to a server. All NMEA data now can be read on an iphone or ipad. Great job this device.
