I first came across Saffron at my inlaws but I did not know its use. Fast forward some years, I enjoy many cultural dishes and in this Persian recipe, it called for saffron an essential ingredient. I am pleased with its quality and how much colour and flavour is released from just a few threads. The price is within my budget and will purchase again soon.

I don't cook often, but when I do I like to make certain Persian stews and kebabs. This is a great saffron for my purposes. One can either use whole after infusing in hot water, or use a small stone mortar and pestle to grind into a powder. The price is far better than what one can get at specialty shops in my area.

I gave this to someone as a gift that does a lot of cooking and she wanted some saffron. I realize it is very expensive for good quality saffron and thought perhaps I was getting a good deal. Not so in this case. Just trying to open the tin container was a feat in itself. We finally got it open by prying the lid with a screwdriver. This saffron had no flavor whatsoever. She tried it in various recipes and you would never have known saffron was even one of the ingredients. She has used saffron before so she would know good saffron from bad; therefore, I would not recommend buying this particular brand.

For over years I buy this brand and happy with it, in rice and with meat as well.

The description says the Safron comes in a decorative metal tin with a clear window on top to look at the Safron inside. Instead it arrived in nothing more than a cheap plastic bag. The included invoice even said "in Decorative Airtight Tin with Window Lid" Liars.
