Every gift comes with a price
Emily was happy to be 'The Flame of Olympus ' in order to save Olympus but she did not plan on having to save Olympus all the time. It's another adventure for Emily as she learns to control her powers while saving Olympus again and finding her dad. Emily is not alone. Her friends Pegasus, Joel, Paleon, and now Cupid risk the CRU and Nirads to help Emily along the way.

Great series
10 yr old Granddaughter can’t get enough of this series. She read the library copy and asked for her own set of the whole series to reread and keep in her library.

AAA I love these books!
I can't even explain how much I laughed with the interactions of Cupid's powers with others, and I loved this whole new story bringing into light where all these creatures had come from. Great book series, I've bought every book so I can't wait to get onto the third one in my spare time.10/10 series, still loving it even after years of reading them.

Olympus at War (Pegasus) - Awesome book for a young reader!
It was difficult to get my son (4th grader) to read but Kate's book changed that. She is an excellent writer and her book is fast pace and the story captures my son's attention. My son told me he loved the Pegasus books and wanted to read more. I was thrill to say the least. He has finished the first 4 books (in 2 weeks!) and now eagerly awaits for the 5th book (coming out end of this year). For someone who is having a hard time to get their little ones to read, try this one. It is not a huge book by any means and the story line is awesome. I would recommend this to a child who is not interested in reading any books. Worth a try!

My daughter is in 5th grade and it's getting harder to find her series that she loves. She couldn't put these down! I highly recommend.

Exciting fast paced sequel
This book is the second in the Pegasus series, it begins in Olympus, not long after the first book ended. The Nirads are gone and Olympus has been restored to it's former glory thanks to Emily's sacrifice at the end of the last book. Becoming the Flame has changed Emily more than she can guess, her powers are strong and she struggles to keep them under control. Olympus is beautiful and Emily and her friends are happy there except for the fact that Emily's father is missing, still held captive by the evil CRU. The friends sneak off to Earth on a rescue mission and this is where the story takes off. They have to face the CRU and the return of the Nirads. The book is fast paced and switches between characters viewpoints which helps to build up tension as we have to wait to find out what happens to certain characters. Eventually it is left to Emily to save the day, can she master her powers?I really enjoyed this second instalment, learning more about the Nirads and their homeland was interesting and I couldn't believe their story. All the favourite characters from the first book return and there were some great new characters introduced such as Tange and Cupid who really added to the story. Parts of this book are funny, some are scary and some are sad, it's a great mix and I found it hard to tear myself away.If you liked Pegasus and the Flame then I can't see why you wouldn't enjoy this, this is a great sequel, it moves just as fast and is just as difficult to put down. Looking forward to the next book already!

A Fantastic Read!
Emily has been reborn as the Flame of Olympus, but all she wants to do is return to New York to find her father, who is still being held in a secret government facility run by the CRU. She, along with Pegasus, Joel and Paelen, must battle monsters and fight against the CRU to rescue him. Another Olympian, Cupid, insists in joining them. Can Emily control her powers in time to rescue her father and save Olympus from destruction? This is the second book in the series. I absolutely LOVED it! Sometimes a second book is not as good as the first one, but this one is as good, if not better! This book is as fast paced as the first one, and the action is more intense!Emily is a fantastic character. I keep forgetting that she's only 13! Because she has been re-born as the Flame, she has now developed Olympian powers, which she is struggling to control.Joel has grown a lot too. Not just his character, but physically too. He is one of my favourite characters. He has a more level-headed approach to problems and doesn't panic.Paelen has become a reformed character. He has given up being a thief, but he is a fantastic friend! He can always get you out of a tight spot! He's my favourite character after Pegasus!Kate has introduced a whole range of new characters in this book; Some good, and some down-right nasty! I love how she has combined them to enhance and enrich the story. This is a fantastic adventure series for children (11+) and adults too. I highly recommend this book if you love mythology or horses, or both.

My children were gripped
The story picks up after the events of the 'Flame of Olympus'. Emily is living in Olympus and all is well apart from missing her father. Then the Nirads return but there is another side to these enemies. Emily wants to get back to her father who is still being held by the CRU back in the human world. The story continues and takes a twist that was not expected. My children really enjoyed this story and wanted more and more read every night. It isn't as scary as the first book. Slightly more adult themes are touched upon but was way over the heads of my 7 and 9 year old.

Delightful
Kate O'Hearn's 'Pegasus' series makes a really good gift for an older child - and adults who (like me) never grew up! This particular book - like the others - has hidden messages within its pages, and it is for the reader to recognise them. Beautifully written and highly descriptive throughout. A winner!(One word of warning: If you have this book, don't buy the separate book 'Pegasus and the Fight for Olympus' - they are absolutely identical.)

Amazing book
At points, when my 11 year old daughter read this book, she broke down into sobs. That, in my eyes, is what makes a good book.
