Great Multi-Purpose Lanyard for Airline Life.
A lanyard may seem a pretty basic thing with not much reason to choose one over another, but upon returning to airline life after a few years away, there were certain features I knew I wanted… a nice sharp black to pair well with the uniform, retractability so I could swipe my i.d. (without removing the lanyard) at a variety of spots regardless of height or location of the scanner, the safety feature to release it if it got caught in equipment, a spot to hang a key, a solid back of some sort that would conceal numbers and codes from others, and overall durability. This has it all.The one caveat is that I’m short and so it is long for me. I just adjusted it at the back which does leave the excess hanging down a little from under my collar in the back but as it’s a nice neutral black I don’t think it looks sloppy and when I wear the uniform sweater or vest, it doesn’t show anyway. One other thing to note is that if you’re someone who likes to wear a lot of pins on your lanyard, the cord on this one (I got the rounded, not flat) doesn’t lend itself to that, which doesn’t matter to me (there is a spot just above the card holder itself with room for a pin or 2).I think my favorite feature about this lanyard (and the thing that’s had my colleagues saying “That is so cool! Where’d you get that?”) is the part that holds the i.d. itself. I wondered if my badge would still swipe through the hard plastic, but it does, and best of all, the solid back not only conceals important numbers, but creates a nice spot for me to hide a note or two, a business card, a bill of currency… that sort of thing. It’s where I hide codes that are often changing. I don’t trust putting sensitive information on the back of an i.d. or on other cards hanging loosely on a lanyard where they may be visible if flipped, so I really like this… and (update) at 8 months in it’s been durable so far. I’ve ordered a couple more for whenever it may get enough wear and tear to not look quite as sharp and another for a colleague.

Worth the $
More $ than I initially wanted to spend on something without being able to verify it's sturdiness. But it is well worth the $.

Break away AND adjustable
This lanyard is adjustable AND breakaway which is what I need since I work in healthcare.

Not designed for easy access
Does not provide easy access to the card; plastic back slides all the way off to get access. Not a good functional design if intended use is for a PIV login card.

Good Looking ID Holder
I bought this to use for my works ID card. If you need to have quick access to the back of your card or swipe your card this is not the ID lanyard for you. The way that you insert and remove the ID is not a "on the fly" kind of thing. If you need an ID visable and on your neck I highly recommend. If you need access to your card to swipe etc. I would not recommend this model.

Great quality.
I work at the airport so I'm always using my badge to get into secure areas and this is much better than the one that came with my badge. I don't have to take it off to get out of the parking garage and that alone is worth the purchase. Gonna keep it short because it's a simple product but it's made of high quality materials and it doesn't snap off my neck easy but it will unsnap in a emergency situation.. If you know you know.
