Performance Tool W41034 1/2 Ton (1,000 lbs.) Capacity Universal Engine Lift Plate , Gold

I usually do not like lift plates but this one I've learned to trust. It's very solid, the welds are well done, and the variety of holes on the plate (and for the hook) allow it to work on pretty much anything. No problems lifting engine + trans. Would recommend doubling or even tripling up the nuts on the carb studs for safety, and a drop chain is always a good idea if you're not sure how deep the studs go or are working with an aluminum intake.One negative comment, due to all the holes in the plate stuff can fall into the intake with the plate on. I usually press a piece of paper onto the carb studs that goes under the plate to keep junk out, but some tape etc would work just as well. It's a pretty mild complaint, but one to keep in mind,

Getting to the point quickly, doing an engine swap on a seized engine so the transmission had to come out with the engine (extremely heavy). This mount did the job and more!!!! I am very pleased. I was able to separate the transmission from the engine in mid air! Now I just have to figure out how to get the TC off of the flywheel.I highly recommend this product!!!!! A+++++

This puller plate was what I needed but it's a little light, so I added some 1" metal to the top of the plate for reinforcement. Welded a few of the holes up for more strength when pulling my Big Block Chevy 454.UPDATE: Pulled out my BBC engine and this lift plate worked out great.

have a 289 block all together hanging for 6Mo and still hanging from it.

It has multi fit functionality and the construction looks good - no poor welds. The lift plate was up to the task of lifting an 800 pound engine with all its bolt ons present! I am happy with it.
