Test Strip Keto-Diastix Reagent (50 Count)

As a T1D I'm always afraid to have soda out. I was told the glucose strips could confirm and when I performed a test they worked perfectly! No made for this but it works. Cool T1D hack!

My dog was diagnosed diabetic several months ago, and I have used these per vet's instructions to monitor insulin. They have worked just as explained. I checked them against readings done from my dog's blood glucose meter and the results were consistent. BUT.. then, as of the last batch I received, they stopped working. All results negative for several days. Had to go by the blood tests, which did give us different readings (not negative). I tried a test from a different batch (purchased elsewhere), and got the same results. It seems my dog's urine is no longer registering on the strips. I don't understand why, so I checked with my vet. He was unable to explain what was going on, just told me to stick with the blood meter readings. Also... checked the sticks with human urine & they appeared to work fine. So it seems I can't use these anymore, but I don't know why. For the time I did use them, they worked fine and accurately. If they work for you or your animal, they are an excellent product. If not, I don't know why. If you find strange results like I did (several absolute negative results in a row, double-checked by meter to verify accuracy), then talk to your vet and stick with blood results. Again, for me, the sticks have no problem and worked well.. the problem was on our end and we're still wondering what the problem is.

We recently learned that our cat has diabetes, and our vet gave us a few of these so that we could test her urine. I came to Amazon to find them, as none of our local stores had them in stock. The price seems right, and they do what they are supposed to do. Will buy them again when our current ones run out.

This product was used to determine our little guys(cat) urine ketone and glucose. It was accurate, easy to use and worth every cent. You don’t have to be a vet tech to master!

If you have a accommodating cat these are easy to use. I watch when my cat is going to dig a hole (sand) to pee and place the test strip in right before he covers it up. (let him finish) You just dip it and pull it out. You only need a drop and count exactly 30 seconds for results. His is so abnormal even with insulin so I tested on my other cat who does not have diabetic issues and had a normal reading. Just in case you think the strips are not working.
