The Art and Life of Jimmie Jones: Landscape Artist of the Canyon Country Hardcover – November 24, 2015

This past May as my wife and I registered into The Desert Pearl Inn in Springdale Utah at the beginning of our 5 day stay near Zion National Park, my attention was immediately drawn to a sublime pentaptych painting of the area hanging on the wall behind the reception desk. I was so distracted by the work that I wasn't paying attention to what the hotel receptionist was telling us. After getting things squared away I asked her about the artist, J. Jones, whose signature was signed on the 5 panel piece in the lower corner. She informed me that he was a local artist who unfortunately had passed away in 2009. I came across his work again in a Springdale gallery and looked through a "store copy only" of this wonderful book. So began my love affair with Jimmie Jones, one of the Desert Southwest's greatest landscape painters. This is a beautiful book lovingly written by the author. It gives the reader a personal account of Jones's career as an artist, from portrait painter to painter of some of the most sublimely beautiful paintings of our canyon country that you'll ever see. The reproductions are excellent and the book will be a welcome addition to my collection of art books.

To read the story of this man was inspiring. The way he eventually painted in his style is superb for it's reduction more than more stuff. well worth the money to own this book.
