Peace of mind
Works great

Milockie safe lock.
The lock works good on flat front safes. But if the safe door is inset they don’t work or can’t be used.

Added security on our vacation
We used this Milockie Hotel Safe kit on our recent vacation to the tropics. We paired it with a really good lock as the one that comes with this kit is not sufficient. With that combination, we felt safe leaving our passports and phones and valuables in the safe .

Disappointed
I was a little disappointed with this thing. I'd been debating on the purchase for a long time, but decided to do it before a trip to Vegas. This was the first hotel I've been to with a safe since the purchase, but the safe wasn't designed in a way to accept this thing. There wasn't the lip inside needed for it to work. It'll probably work okay in the scenario of the hotel with the right type of safe. But I'm afraid this will be a bit of a guess and check thing.

Excellent Idea, Nearly Excellent Execution
I purchased this lock for a trip to the Dominican Republic. When I received the lock I was confused by the instructions that look like they were written by a teenager with limited references to show you what the instructions are talking about. The grainy b&w pictures in the back of the manual are nearly worthless. They're so small and grainy you can hardly tell what they are. The only way to understand the product is by watching the Youtube video (Also grainy and looks like it was shot in the 80's).The product was a stroke of genius. I wish I had this years ago while traveling, if only for the peace of mind knowing my hotel safe was untouchable. The sad part about this product are the materials with which it's made. The outer shell of the lock is made in plastic. The first thing my 10yr old said when I put it on the safe was "Can't they just smash the plastic with a hammer and twist off the lock?" He was right. The decision to make the shell in plastic was a poor one when trying to make a security product. Had the outer shell been made in a soft metal, even that would have been a better decision than plastic I can squeeze in my hand which shows it's not very strong.Hopefully this lock lives up to it's goal of being a deterrent where crooks think "Too much work, better move on to the next safe".

Very effective
Just provides an extra layer of security to in room safes. No matter what hotel you're staying in at least one of the person has a key to the safe. Sometimes several people have past keys. This is started enough to discourage most thieves. If it's tampered with the damage will be obvious. I do recommend .

Great idea!
We did not realize that our belongings might not be secure in the hotel room safe! But then we heard about people whose credit cards were compromised, and some were missing jewelry and/or money, electronics, etc. There is always a staff member with a master key. Most of these staff members can be trusted, but it only takes one.....! As we are starting to travel more and more, we decided not to take chances with our valuables. We will be testing this for the first time later in the fall, and will make sure to take pictures of the lock "in action" when we travel. It was also suggested that a photo be taken of the lock on the safe, so that if by some strange quirk the lock is tampered with, you have proof of the lock to show resort management. Great idea!

but it was easy enough to figure out how to use it with ...
It is true as other reviewers have said, that it is hard to get the strap tight enough that it couldn't be cut through by somebody determined, but the discouragement factor is probably key. Also the lock it comes with is a joke, so you add to the expense by buying a stronger padlock. The instructions were also hard to follow, but it was easy enough to figure out how to use it with some trial and error. You should know also that using the darn thing adds considerably to the time needed to get into and out of your safe. But with all those negatives, I gave it a four because the peace of mind factor is important, and it serves a purpose for which there's no alternative.
