This newer, stainless unit is so much easier to install than the previous units with quartz sleeves. You simply drop it in and fasten a phillips screw. The cord from the unit to the adapter is long, allowing you to place the adapter (which is about the size of a deck of cards) in a safe place. This is a massive improvement over previous units. I do not use it for water clarity as much as pathogen control, so I cannot attest to this.My only major concern was that my unit failed after less than two months. The adapter indicated a red, flashing light. When I pulled the bulb, it appeared burned out and had a pinhole in the plastic sleeve, filled with water. However, when I contacted the company, they replaced it quickly after exchanging a few emails. They honored the purchase off of Amazon and even recommended I continue to use that Amazon seller. Because of this, I am rating this unit as five stars. Had Savio not replaced it so easily, I would have given a lower star rating.

The bone was supposed to last 12 to 18 months. It lasted 2 months. pet and pond direct did nothing to replace it short of send me to the manufacturer, savio. savio has allowed me to file a claim, and has refused to process it or return any of my messages for over a month already. Worst customer service ever

Failed within a month and a half

I had installed a 36 watt light in-line to my waterfall but it could never tackle the level of algae I had in my pond. My pond is really large - not sure how many gallons but probably over 4000. I installed this Savio 50 watt in the skimmer and after just a few days the pond was completely clear! I highly recommend this light. It is easy to install. I just drilled a larger hole in the skimmer cover to accommodate the metal collar, secured it with the screw included in the package and plugged it in. It is also easy to visually verify that the light is working and I like that! Great light!!

I had the older 2 prong lamp version for 10 years and replaced the lamp a couple of times. Then Savio made it obsolete and the bulbs weren't available.This is working great, cleared up my pond. Fit in the original Savio skimmer no problem.

Worked about 90 days and company won’t call me back. Wow big money down the tubes

Only 30 day guarantee on bulb, Ad does not state that. If you check reviews you'll find a lot of problems with this product, Just 3 months and bulb burned out. I would not buy from this company again. Many cheaper products on the market.
