Pretty cool but shocked at a couple upsets
Pretty cool sword everything seems to be put together well, and its rather heavy giving it a quality feel. A couple things that i was bummed about. First off the blade is 100% as dull as can be...im talking wouldnt even saw thru s plastic water bottle. Its especially sad because when i think of a katana my mind automatically thinks of the sharpest of sharp , sharp enough to cut limbs clean off with one slice. While that may not be realistic with a blade in this price range, when i open the package to find a blade this blunt genuinely made me sad & embarrassed considering how i was bragging about my purchase to friends to then not be able to cut thru one watter bottle.....yeah..... second thing is the scabbard.. looks great but you really REALLY have to jam the sword in there to get it to close fully and then in order to draw the blade you have to yank the crap out of the blade .. its a huge pain and normally its not supposed to be this difficult to draw the blade. Last but certainly not least and its part of the blade but i dont consider it the same problem as previously mentioned how this sword cant cut through a stick of half melted butter, but aside from that this sword has the saddest "Kissaki" ive ever seen.... again it is so dull it wouldnt pierce a huge blob of jellow . Not only is it not sharp it has a curved tip (probably due to the way the blade has to be forced into the scabbard) the "Kissaki" isnt even symmetrical so whoever forged and shaped this blade i believe were in s rush to pump these swords out so they can sell on prime. Look other than that this word is pretty rad. The hamon is 100% genuine as far as i can tell and for the price of $68 a 1060 carbon steel katana sword handmade with a unique personality i can bet my bottom dollar that no two swords are exactly the same making them that much more desirable. My next one will be from a different company but i am glad i had been able to experience purchasing this sword.

I’m very satisfied! Nice quality.
I’ll start with a disclaimer: I’m not a sword expert. I have spent several days researching, and (like most males) I have wanted a higher-quality katana ever since I was a pre-teen. Now that I am an adult I can finally afford one, so I pulled the trigger. :)This review will be for people in my general category: maybe you want a nice Japanese sword, but can’t afford $1200+ and have no interest in the lower-end $40 to $80 junk-swords. You are willing to spend $180 to $300 for one, but you are wary because you aren’t sure what sort of quality you’ll get for that price, and are wondering if it’s worth the upgrade from a crappy $50 sword. Here’s the answer: ABSOLUTELY.This sword is far superior to the crappy $50ish swords that you may have had. It’s definitely heavier and better quality in every way. The tsuba (hilt) is well-made, and the blade is sturdy and sharp. It has good craftsmanship, and to the casual observer or non-expert, will look and feel like a $1200 hand-crafted sword. I haven’t actually put it to use, but I’m confident that it would hold up well for backyard dicing (or fending off home-intruders.)So in summary, I won’t really comment as to how it compares to upper-end handcrafted swords, because I’ve never had the pleasure of holding one... but compared to cheaper swords (of which I’ve held many), it’s a night-and-day difference, and well worth the money.IMHO.

and have a lot of blade wiggle and they just feel like a toy
Solid Katana! I've dealt with a few Katanas and this one was a surprise. Cheap ones feel light, have cheap paint, nothing fits right, and have a lot of blade wiggle and they just feel like a toy. This even before I took it out of the box felt heavy. After opening it and holding it I was just blown away. Feels Nice, the blade was very sharp and the quality of all the metal finishings are perfect. obviously, this isn't an expensive katana but the detail of what I got from the picture was better than I expected. Highly suggest this for a gift or personal collections. Even if you just want something to swing around.

Self Defense Approved!
I was looking for a solid, practical sword for self defense purposes. After scouring Amazon, this is where I decided to take my chances. I am VERY pleased! This sword is definitely well made. I have no doubt it will hold up if and when I need to fully utilize it's potential. Solidly sharp edge out of the box. A little heavier than I had expected, but this is my first katana. The balance is slightly forward, but has a fantastic overall feel and great look. For the price, I couldn't be happier! I have full confidence this is capable of taking an intruders arm clean off.

High Quality
I am very impressed by the quality of this katana. It is even better than I was expecting, especially at this price point. It arrived very sharp, with a thick protective coating. The steel is straight, with no scratches or nicks on either it or the saya. All parts are very solid and fit well together. I haven't tried any tameshigiri yet, but the sword itself feels balanced well enough, and it is definitely sharp. It's a level of craftsmanship I really wasn't expecting, and I am so pleased with it that I am going to purchase an unsharpened stainless steel version for iaido.

Gorgeous
Absolutely gorgeous.Very well made and will slice paper without effort.Well-packed in a heavy cardboard shipping tube, in a cloth bag.I plan to buy a few more.People saying that theirs came bent or damaged or scratched clearly messed-up their swords doing something stupid, and were honestly surprised when it got damaged. This sword came immaculate without so much as a finger-print on it and a thin layer of oil to protect the blade.Good weight, too.No... it will not slice a concrete block or cut a car in half... and if you think that a Katana can do this, you probably should go back to playing video games. This is functional (and can be re-sharpened) and used on 'soft targets.'VERY happy with the quality, look and feel.

It did not cost much.....
The sword came very fast. Within 8 days I had it. I live in Windsor Ontario Canada. However. It said it was razor sharp and I could run my finger down it without cutting it and it definitley did not cut paper. I also swung the sword lightly in my room and it hit the light fixture and it chipped the sword instanlty. They are not super sharp and very weak and in my opininion I would prefer a steal bo staff over a Katana in a battle any day lol. If I had an aluminum staff and did five hits against this blade it would be completley usless after the strikes. It was however worth the 200$ Canadian and to be fair I do not think any katana could take more then a few strikes with a metal staff.
