We bought the Chilla Model 25 last week and have used it all weekend long. The unit is compact, but very functional. We have had no problems making ice all weekend long. The unit takes roughly 9 minutes to make a batch of ice, which is 9 pieces of "bullet" ice. There are two settings, small & large, for the ice. As stated in some of the previous questions/answers, this is NOT a refrigerator, so you must expect some melt if you don't immediately transfer the ice to a freezer. The ice melt returns to the reservoir where it continues to make ice.Overall, we are very satisfied with this small unit and would HIGHLY recommend it to others.* 09/10/2019 - after about 2-weeks of use, the unit is going strong. We’ve used it non-stop daily as our primary source of ice. No regrets in buying this unit.* 01/01/2020 - we continue to use this daily and it is still going. The only issue we’ve ran into is the low water cutoff stopped working and instead makes very small ice. The work around is to refill the unit once it gets low. I would still highly recommend this unitJuly 2020: several months ago this ice maker just stopped making ice. We’ve cleaned it and tried to produce more ice. At this time I will no longer recommend the purchase is this ice maker. The low water cut off stopped at about month 3. We’ve had problems with it ever since.

It makes ice fast, but you cannot store ice in the maker because it is not refrigerated at all and it starts to melt fast. We find that the ice cubes melt quite fast in drinks also due to their hollow nature. However, the fact that it makes ice so quickly is what we were looking for so it does what we originally purchased it for. I usually will empty each tray of ice as it makes it into one of the freezer bags and pop it in the freezer and continue until it makes a large bag of ice each time we get to our cabin. Just wish the inside was refrigerated so the ice could stay in there longer without having to put it in the freezer right away.

I have had my Chilla for several months and have no problems with the way it functions. It makes magnificent very easy to eat ice. I make the small size and you should let it sit out just a teeny bit so it becomes even softer. My machine is functioning perfectly but I plan to buy a second one in case just in case it ever breaks down. Machines have a way of doing that, haha.

I'm happy with my Chilla Ice Maker. I had an issue with the first one as it seems the motor stopped working. I was immediately shipped a new one and it is working very well. The simplicity of operation and the fact that I can choose two different sizes of ice makes this a winner! I love being able to have ice on hand and I don't have to fight with silicone ice trays any longer.

Great Purchase!! I have had my ice maker a few weeks now and I love it. It makes 12 pieces at a time. I bought mine because I like to chew on ice. It's a quick way to get hydrated and to cool off in the humid Texas weather. If it runs out of water or if the ice bin fills up, it will turn off. It's not a freezer so it wont keep your ice frozen. You can add water or clear the ice bin(comes with bags to put extra ice in the freezer)and turn it back on and it will continue making. This is also the perfect size to use in my RV. I am very satisfied with my purchase and the price.

this is my second ice maker. It worked just fine the first time I used it . The next day I want to use it it would not work the red light kept coming on to add water but it was already fill to the max just like it was the first time I used it. I don't want a replacement this time. I want a refund.

Update: 2 days after the return window has closed and the machine has stopped working.This was a perfect fit for our little house party. We had over 6 of our friends and with the ice maker running plus our refrigerator we had an endless supply of ice for our on the rock margaritas. I highly recommend for small get-togethers and kids parties.

I purchased this item because both of our fridge ice makers broke within a short time of five years and it would have cost several hundreds of dollars to fix. It works fine as a residential appliance. The two points that I do not like about it is that it is loud and the ice melts within the ice bucket.
