These Wahl Guide Combs Help Groom Thick Doodle Fur At Home!
These combs are sturdy and durable. I am 62 year old owner of an adorable giant Goldendoodle that I am trying to learn to groom at home. These professional quality Wahl stainless steel guide combs and a corded Wahl Maxcoat clipper allowed me clip through my 90 pound Samwise's thick Goldendoodle fur with ease. I recommend these Wahl stainless steel guide comb guides.

Not what they used to be
They work OK but something has changed with the quality of these combs. They don’t attach as easily as my old set. They are very stiff going on and off, and I’ve even had them come apart at times. The case also no longer comes with a lid for some odd reason. I don’t feel that these will hold up as long as they used to.

Best I've used but make sure you're using 0A not 000
These are good guards. I have an Andis BGRV that I use in the salon daily and I've never had an issues with them sliding off. If you have a detachable blade clipper, get these. You've invested in a good clipper, so invest in good guards. Take good care of them though, replacement guards are spendy.Add on: I was using the guards the way I was used to using other guards. (Mind you I use Oster detachable blades almost exclusively) I'm used to my guards fitting on my 000 blade. The smaller guards worked like a charm but when I got to 5 and up They would rattle like crazy on my clipper. Well, these are sized for a 0a... that said, I chipped 2 teeth on my 000 before I read the package and realized it was my bad.So use them on your 0A and you won't be like me, needing to replace your 000 because you didn't read the package.

Re-labeled combs!
They re-labeled the combs and it really screwed me up. I was training a new groomed and showing her how to read grooming notes. We use the number of the combs and I purchased new combs and didn't realize they had been re-labed. ie; a 1/2" that used to be labed a one comb is now a 4 comb WTH. This can be a big problem, now I have the manually re label the new combs! Thanks a lot Wahl!
