Most stories in this book are well known and better detailed in other Ramakrishnas' biographies. Ram Chandra Datta was a truly great devotee but as a writer he was just above average. This so called "The Original Biography of Sri Ramakrishna" is two thirds biography and one third "taking you nowhere" philosophical reflections. If the reader is truly interested in learning more about Thakurs' -Ramakrishna- life he will DEFINITELY be better off reading Swami Saradanandas' "Ramakrishna The Great Master" or "Ramakrishna and his Divine Play".
