-UPDATED- (7 Months Later) Review - Great Value For Budget Streamers/YouTubers
This is an initial review, meaning that these are my thoughts on the product after only a few days. If anything happens within the next few weeks to couple of months, I will update my review to reflect things. So far so good, they seem to get plenty bright and light my face quite well. In regards to the brightness, they offer 10 levels of brightness. When turned on, you can turn the brightness up and down in increments of 10% each with the lowest level of brightness being 10% and the highest being 100% making for 10 levels of brightness. When it comes to quality of the materials, I had thought about giving three stars, but decided that for the price that wasn't fair so I am giving four stars instead. Everything is plastic, so don't expect anything super high quality, but as far as plastic goes, it's more than acceptable material quality. The only metal component is the piece that connects the LED panel to the stand and the other connector at the top of the stand. I'm not sure what other people were complaining about in regards to them not being balanced when fully extended, but perhaps they were not standing them up properly or on a level surface, fully extended they stand up fine for me. However, the entire thing isn't all that heavy, so it's possible that if the environment you plan to put them in isn't all that stable with wind blowing, sloped surfaces, or moving surfaces, then they most likely will fall over and I would highly suggest rigging something of your own design to grab hold of the base, and weigh it down if you plan to use them in a non stable environment. In regards to versatility I am rating them at 4 stars, they aren't the most versatile, but they offer enough range of tilt and swivel based on the two connector pieces that you can have them shining at almost any angle, the only reason they get 4 stars instead of 5 in this aspect is due to their maximum height not being the tallest, and also because of what I mentioned above about the overall weight of the product. Laslty, I would highly suggest you head the specifications of the product when they state that these panels require 5v and 2.0A through USB. Connecting them to lower voltage, and lower amperage USB ports may result in the product not working right. Connecting them to USB that supplies more voltage and/or amperage than what they require that is cheaply made and does not properly downstep the voltage and amperage and thusly properly regulate the power output to only be what the device is asking for, will most likely result in you burning them out and destroying them. So I would highly recommend that whatever USB ports you plan to plug them into, you make sure that they supply at least 5v and 2.0A and that if they supply more, that they are properly built to downstep to only provide what is being asked of it by the device. I personally am plugging them into a 2 port USB wall adapter that supplies up to 5v and 2.1A but that I know is quality built and will downstep itself to only provide what is being asked of it by a device that requires less than what it can supply. If interested in what USB wall adapter I use, it is the Ailkin brand here on Amazon, and it is a 3 pack for $11. As for the filters you get the following: Two of each, one for each panel. Red, Blue, Yellow, and White. The red, blue, and yellow filters are thin and mostly transparent, allowing for light to pass through easily while coloring the light. The white however is thicker plastic that is softened white and used as a diffusion layer to diffuse the light coming out of the panel. While the white diffusion panel is in place, there is only enough room for you to slide a single colored filter in front of it, so this means that if you wanted to double up on a single color, or mix two or all three of the colors together on the light, you would have to remove the diffusion panel from the light, but that is OK because once you have more than one colored layer installed it ends up diffusing the light source by just enough that it's not super harsh on the subject you are lighting. So to summarize: They are bright. Overall decently built for the price, but fairly light weight. You get two of them for such a low price. They are powered off of USB, making them more versatile since you can plug them into the USB ports on a PC, or can plug them into a 2 port USB wall adapter like me, making them not have to take up two power outlets with fatter brick connectors or anything like that. So all in all I give these a 5 star rating for what you're getting and for the price, and I would highly recommend these for the entry level budget photographer if they need something quick and cheap to use, but mostly for anyone who's on a tight budget that wants to have good lighting for either live streaming, or making YouTube videos. As stated at the beginning, this is an initial review, and if anything happens within the next few weeks to couple of months, I will update this review. Thanks for reading. -UPDATE- It's been 7 months and they still work perfectly fine, granted, they never move or get unplugged from where I've had them at my desk so there's no wear and tear from moving them around.

Mixed Bag: Lights are amazing, tripods not so much
UPDATE 11-19-22: Neewer Customer Service reached out to me about the lights, specifically about the stands. Though some discussion they offered to send me better replacement stands and took the feedback I had about the original ones. I'm updating to a full five stars because the Customer Service I received is beyond exceptional. I have bought Neewer products in the past and this was the first time I was disappointed in the product and Neewer reached out FIRST and made things right. ------ The lights and filters are great. Quite bright and light up well at about 4 feet of distance away from me. Using them for online video streaming. But let's get to the bad: The tripod legs. One light I have mounted straight to one of my own tripods, and the other I used the tripods that came with the kit. Only owned these a short time, and I was adjusting the light downward when the leg on the tripod straightened out and became super flimsy. On picking it up, I noticed the bottom attachment on the tripod looked loose. When I tried to put the tripod legs back into place, the whole bottom piece (pictured) fell off, showing three areas where there were internally screws as broken. The bigger piece (on the left of the picture) was actually able to be unscrewed and removed from the main extension of the tripod. *YOU CAN USE THE MAIN TRIPOD ON ANOTHER MOUNT.* Since it seems like just the legs are terrible, you can still use the extension part of the arm on another mount. It's a standard screw thread (right picture) that fits on regular tripods. I recommend that if you want to put these lights on a mount, pick up a cheap mini tripod or tripod stand (they run $10-20). This is disappointing, as there was barely any pressure on these legs. I usually expect better quality out of Neewer but this is sad. I can likely repair it myself but this shouldn't be the case. I'd recommend buying these just for the lights. Also, on the bottom of each light is a screw mount that fits common consumer tripods. At the very least, I can still utilize that. These lights would've been extremely good for their price even by themselves. That said, without the tripods, there's no way out-of-box to mount these to anything, so again consider a mini tripod that's of a better quality to go with these.

Gets the job done in a decent package.
Keeping it simple, this pair of lights is incredibly lightweight (and breaks down SUPER compact) so setup and storage is pretty easy. The mounts do worry me as leverage might become an issue and cause tipping or leaning since the adjustment at the bottom is a sort of ball-and-socket system to rotate it. I haven't seen any real dealbreaking problems with them, but mine are pretty stationary. One thing to note, you HAVE TO INSTALL THE INCLUDED WEIGHTS ON THE POLES. I went through full assembly and didn't realize that's what they were for. You put them on the bottom portion of the poles to keep them stable, otherwise these will tip over really easily. They won't stand up in a hurricane or anything, but for normal use and setup it works fine for me. I'm not a particularly abusive user, a lot of my stuff stays in one spot and doesn't get touched. If you've got cats, kids, or drunken buddies who knock things over I could see these breaking easily after a tumble from full extension. The upside to the lightness of the LED modules is they dont tip over as easy, but their sturdiness does concern me. Might be worth it to affix some weights or whatever of your own to the bases to give them some more stability. The color changes come from swapping out the included color filters. They are plastic inserts that go over the LEDs to either color them or do some light diffusing if you have the plain, white filter over them. Not bad for the price. It's not professional lighting quality, but this does fine for streamers or VLOGers who just need some consistent lighting for videos. For the price and how easy it is to pack and stow these away, it's hard to complain too much. They are USB powered and I've used everything from USB power bricks, to hubs, to built-in hubs on monitors and these have done just fine. The little controls are fine and get the job done. You get a brightness control and power button, all you really need with a setup this simple. If you just want to step up from light from your monitors or a spare lamp for your streaming or vlogging setup, this will definitely get you a bump in production quality. It may be worth it to buy two pairs if you want to do 3-point lighting or get fancy in some other way. At this price, it really isn't a bad idea.

Very light weight and with good output color tone
I am using these lights to provide light on my background. They are very light weight, but have enough power to light up my back ground with the right light color tone. The brightness is adjustable and comes with a couple of light filters. These lights are not bright enough to use outdoors except in low light conditions (ie...darkness). Could be mounted to a video camera as there is a 1/4-20 mount on the bottom of the light assemble. I was disappointed in the construction being all plastic. So here is my pro's and con's list. Pro's - 5600K output color tone - Brightness adjustment - Light weight light panels - Fully articulated mounting stands - USB powered - Can be powered from a USB battery pack that you use on your phone - Compact - Very portable Con's - Plastic construction including stands giving it a cheap look and feel - No USB power supply - No carrying case - Could be brighter 03/10/2020 UPDATE After using these lights for several shoots I find that they are just not bright enough except to use as modeling lights with a white umbrella to soften the light. They did not have ample power to eliminate all my background shadows. So not a total waste of money. Also, you need a good USB power supply. I was using my Apple phone power supply and it would over heat. Once it got hot the light would only stay on for about 30 seconds at a time. Getting a better USB power supply solved the problem.

Love these light for webcasts and zoom.
This is my second time ordering these lights. I had some pieces break (after 4 years of pretty regular use on webcasts) on the prior iteration. These new model is MUCH sturdier with better system for locking and expanding. The two lights come in so handy if you need to compensate for a natural light source. Also I wear glasses so this lets me light from one or both sides and a avoid glare off my lenses. I use one of the filters because the color in my walls makes me look a little greenish and I can adjust the tone better for different conditions than with the zoom filters. I am webcasting less now, so assume these will be the last I buy for a long time, but I would definitely buy them again. I was using them for online events and courses and now use primarily for zoom. Just a touch of light works wonders. I don’t need to use zoom adjustments much at all and feel like I have more control and the quality of the image of a lot better. Very professional result. Also easy to pack out of the way quickly. I never zoom without at least one. I should say that I did buy a circle light from neewer (more expensive) and I hardly ever use it. It’s bigger bulkier to pack away and doesn’t give me a better result for what I need. I use it when I need to stand and be seen head to toe (vs just head and shoulders) really glad I don’t need to use it all the time.

These are great, inexpensive, but small lights.
You're spending 30-something dollars for two lights... so as long as you know what you're getting, you shouldn't be disappointed. The lights are small, but pump out plenty of light. Speaking of which, the only adjustment is in terms of brightness, so don't expect something that is going to offer any sort of color temperature adjustment. I do like that they retain their brightness setting when you turn them off and on though. If I could change ANYTHING about them, I'd make the cords longer. I have USB outlets pretty much everywhere, so it wasn't a problem, but if you're super strict about cable management, you might want to get a USB extension cord or something. Overall, I'm really happy with my purchase, and I was thinking about grabbing a couple more of these for photographing small objects. The stands they're on do their job. They're not super heavy duty, so don't expect them to stay up if you're banging around your desk or there are high winds around you for some reason. ** 8 Month Update ** - Both lights have started to randomly flicker. I have no idea what's causing this. Still, they're quite inexpensive, so I'm not going to remove a star or anything and will likely just buy another set when these totally crap out. The length of the cords continues to be an issue, and the placement of the switch on the cord isn't ideal. I'm likely going to cut the cords and try to lengthen them and move the switch, so it's more easily accessible.

Professional quality at a budget
I gotta tell you these two lights impressed me when it comes to their quality and the brightness they can provide for example for a streaming environment or a small object photography studio, they can work really well and even better to have the swaping of the light cover with different color to provide different moods for the thing you might be using these lights for, though sometimes I feel they can be a little bit to exagerated, which you can still fit two of them, which I recommend to get some interesting results, the buttons feel of good quality and not cheap and if you plug them to your desktop, your actual computer won't necessarily have to be on to turn these lights on! However, cable management with these two is horrible, since the cable is coming from the top of the light and not under the tube it might get stuck and will drop the lights to often, also since they are so light, they will also fall to often if there are any moves where you have them, the mechanism to have them set at a certain height will also fail from time to time if you want to move their position and will drop down, and when you try to set the light at a different angle, beware that the light cover will fall off too often since it is not secured, but apart from these issues, for the price of these, you are getting 2 really good and powerful lights if you want to have a streaming setup, they do not warm you up, nor leave you blind, but will make your image much clearer and less grainier.
