Great boat
Perfect boat for limited storage and combat style sight fishing in small lakes and canals where larger boats cannot access.

It's a full size boat that fits in a hatchback!
I purchased this model of boat recently and couldn't be happier, especially for the price. The boat came with everything needed to have it out on the water within minutes, and it was incredibly easy to do so. The included oars and oarlocks work well, and easily power the boat through the water.I picked up an extra long kayak paddle at the recommendation of another review, and I am really glad I did. The boat is incredibly easy to paddle from the front this way and I was able to ferry my father and his two grandkids across a large Colorado reservoir just from the bow of the boat. It was a bit crowded for four people and supplies but we all had an amazing time and the memories alone are worth every penny. This boat feels very stable in the water, even with other boats motoring around and the floor is very rigid so it's easy to stand up in and fish. On open water with wakes in Colorado the boat never felt like it would capsize. This model is a bit heavier than the other models being the heavy duty version. I'd suggest some wheels or a dolly in addition to the kayak paddle if you get this thing. Add an anchor, life vest, and Acme whistle and you have a heck of a weekend to take almost anywhere.I wanted the kaboat profile for ease of hand paddling, getting into tight spots, and I wanted the heavy duty model for durability and the larger engine size eventually. I'm very satisfied with all of the criteria getting met. The lashing points and rope along the top of the boat, combined with the handles on the back are great touches that make it really really to use. I can launch this boat without getting wet at all.My only criticisms so far are not worth taking a star off of the rating in my mind, but:The included carry bag is an excellent design executed in thin fabric. I got some small rub holes in it on the first outing and the handles developed rips near the base after the second. I think I need to save the straps and attach them to a similar piece of cotton canvas or something otherwise more sturdy. For an HD boat the case is paper thin! The oars do not snap into the mounted stowing locks... They seem a little too small and mounted too far aft, or maybe the oars with mine are too short to snap in place when stowed. It hasn't mattered as they ride securely when stowed anyway and don't flop into the water. The directional fins on the bottom of mine are a bit bent and need to be straightened with some heat. They also seem a little small and hard to avoid bending when folding it, so it might be nice if they were detachable. I'm not sure how to do this in a heavy duty way so it's probably best to add a V keel by using a foam pool noodle as suggested on the boats to go website. This is an outstanding boat for the money with a great design that feels in no way like a toy. I was nervous about buying an inflatable until riding in this boat, but now I want a fleet!

Love the Heavy-Duty Alaskan Expedition Kaboat
I have had the 13' Heavy-Duty Alaskan Expedition SK385XL model for a year now. It is a great and versatile boat. I have used it in the open ocean, in bays, in rivers, streams, and in white water. It handles all of these different challenges very well. Perhaps the most surprising thing about it is that it is also a great towing dinghy (I tow it in the ocean behind our 25' Hydra Sports Walk Around Cuddy). In fact, it is such a good towing dingy that I decided to sell my RIB dingy and switch to the Kaboat. I highly recommend the Heavy-Duty Expedition versions in 13 and 15 foot lengths. I bought mine from Saturn Rafts online and have been very satisfied with them also. I like them and the 13" model so much I just ordered the 15' version today to add to the fleet! If you want one, don't hesitate as the Alaska Expedition models go fast.

Great Kaboat!
Bought a SK385XL in august and wish I would have bought it sooner! A great boat, stable, easy to inflate and rugged.I put a 4.5hp on it and works good, putting an 8hp on it next should work even better! BoatsToGo was easy to order from and the boat showed up just as planned.

Made To Last.
This is the second KaBoat that I have owned. The first one lasted a few years, before the bottom finally wore through. However, the material was thin from the start, unlike the material used on this boat. I am so pleased with the durability that this KaBoat offers, and I know it will outlast the other KaBoat that I owned. The possibilities are endless with this boat, as you can take along some friends and family, or go boating alone. I enjoy just rowing, but there is a possibility of adding a motor to this boat. My dad went out with me the other day, and he was well impressed with this KaBoats abilities.

Big enough and very reliable
This kayak performs great both when I am on myself or with a friend. It is big enough for 3-4 adults but it is light and I am able to handle it even when I am alone. It is so easy to inflate and deflate and very stable in water, so I am really pleased with it.
