Best wireless earbud system for fixed audio sources, especially for people with unbalanced hearing.
I have 80% hearing loss in one ear compared to the other and I have tried a number of Bluetooth earbuds to get stereo back for music and video. This system is the best I've seen. The main reason is probably that it is NOT Bluetooth but is a dedicated one-way RF wireless (wifi) connection. I know this because the transmitter and receiver will not pair with any Bluetooth audio device, has much better volume and fidelity than the best (Samsung) Bluetooth earbuds, has NO audio latency with video, and stays connected with no signal loss through at least four house walls 50 feet distant. The best part is the receiver has a good balance control that provides me with equal hifi stereo at more than enough volume. The transmitter has three pre-defined sound "modes" besides flat but I would prefer treble/bass controls instead. The supplied earbuds look cheap and small but are surprisingly very good and are, for my ears, the most comfortable I've tried, although you can just plug in your own headset. My only complaint is the earbuds leads are too short but an extension cord solves that. It not only comes with an extra battery but the transmitter/charger has a separate charging port for that in addition to the receiver's charging port. The battery is proprietary so you can only get replacements from the vendor, probably the only real negative. They supply adapters for just about any audio connection you can think of and even a mike for old TVs that have no external connector. Finally, there's a big button on the receiver that turns the earbuds into a two-ear ambient hearing aid that is actually very good, although mono only. The ads show old people wearing the neck cord, which appears to be the antenna, but I just coil it up and put the receiver in my pocket. This system is well worth the price.

This is the ONE TO GET
I'm an electro-mechanical engineer and I have tried several types and I like this the best. It is better than Bluetooth -- Bluetooth has latency (poor lip sinc) and shorter range. The 2.4 Ghz eliminated latency and has long range ( I can even walk into my garage and still hear it fine. Yes you have wires from the small receiver but it is worth the better sound. I can clearly hear everything -- voice and music -- even clearer than if I turned the TV up. I have reduced hearing in one ear and with the balance control I can set it so I get good stereo through the ear buds. I use a pair of JBL earbuds which have 4 foot leads (came with Netflix box). (Note: The earbuds that come with the system although having shorter leads have equally good sound). I just set the receiver down on the couch beside me. If I get up I put the receiver in my shirt pocket and walk around the house. I think if you have a Netflix box with a USB input you could even play your mp3 music through the ear buds. According to the ad you could also use a pair of very lightweight wired headphones if you don't like the ear buds. I spent a lot of time researching and trying different systems and this is the one for me.

CHINESE JUNK like ALL around-the-neck hearing devices. These can also DAMAGE YOUR HEARING FURTHER
Been through 3 different brands of these terrible listening devices for my elderly uncle. While this design is better than the other “stalk” designs, this Avantree might be the worst one because there’s no safety feature on the external mic volume. If the volume is up past a certain point a screeching feedback loop is created which reaches ear-damaging frequencies. My uncle had it in this state for a minute or two & couldn’t tell he was hurting his hearing further. The product should be recalled for this, this is a safety hazard. So just don’t use it in the room listening mode, right? Nope, because the receiver now refuses to pair with the base at all. Some days it will work, some days it inexplicably won’t, NONE of the suggestions for resolving this work, the piece of junk just doesn’t work properly, And of course it’s now several weeks past the return window so there’s another hundred bucks down the drain.Stay way from all these garbage TV listening devices & just get a good pair of Bluetooth Headphones from Sony or another reputable company. It’s a shame Medicare doesn’t cover proper hearing aids & people on a budget are at the mercy of terrible crap like this. So fed up with these trash products from communist China.

Worked good until it didn't🤨
I bought these in April 2020. Seemed to be pretty decent. I personally liked that I could control the volume between left & right side. A few days ago it started acting up. The red charging light won't go on. When I went to use them they are dead. They sat on the charging base all night. (And yes, they were firmly in the base.) I've tried for two days fiddling with the position to see if I could get it to charge... nothing. A lot of money to spend on something that barely made it a year. ☹

Great features and value!
I purchased this as a replacement for an old Sennheiser model that is discontinued. I was hesitant at first due to reading some of the reviews but after setting up and testing it out, it works great! This was purchased for my father-in-law who is hard of hearing and his old Sennheiser was only outputting to one ear and disconnecting recently. What's great about the Avantree model is the set up. The main unit plugs/charging base plugs into your TV via various methods (ie, optic cable, composite cables, etc). The headset unit has a neck loop which you can wear around your neck like a pendant, it's lightweight and you can use any type of 3.5 jack headset with it. Much better than the older model where the bottom of the headset was heavier and could fall out as you were watching. What's great about the headset unit is it has a button so when we are speaking to my father-in-law he can hear us through the built in microphone without having to pull out the earbuds or put in his hearing aid. Great! The unit also comes with a spare battery which maintains a charge while it's in the base. Definitely happy with this purchase and so is my father-in-law. His quote "Thanks! Now I can enjoy my TV programs again!"
