Informative book that sheds light. on a rare Imperial Japanese Navy aircraft that is usually mentioned in passing as an unimportant aircraft . I would recommend this book to any student of WWII airwar in the pacific.
The book is more suited to an artist or advanced model maker. There really isn't much text to interest a reader who isn't sold on the photographs and drawings.

Raiden was disappointing
I am a fan of many Osprey and Squadron/Signal publications. This book is of a different ilk. The illustrations are superb, but there is no operational history of the fighter, no recollections or logbook entries by former pilots, nor records of encounters by P-51 or B-29 crews, and only sparse references to squadron and theater deployments. The technical details would be hugely useful to a modeler, but that was not what I was expecting to get.

just a PDF
The product is a pdf like file without any feature. It don't take advantage of the Kindle, no zoom for picture. The regular book is a better choice

A great reference guide
A great reference book if you're planning on building the model kit. The illustrated color plates were very good.

More for the modeller than the general enthusiast
This book is one of Mushroom Model Publications' Yellow Series (it is 6110). It is a square bound, 6-1/2" x 9-1/2", square bound, 80 page card cover. The book is divided into three sections. The first is the development history text supported by numerous black and white photos, line drawings, tables, and, interestingly, a two page, American Intelligence identification card for the "Jack 11". This section comprises the first 27 pages. The second section comprises detailed photographs and technical manual drawings. Some of the photos are period photos but many are of the only surviving example. These are in full color. The survivor's location is not identified; it is at the Planes of Fame Museum in Chino, CA. This section runs from page 28 to page 62 and includes a brief bibliography. The last section has the color profiles. There are 18 pages of these. They're fairly monotonous because the color scheme varied hardly at all during the aircraft's career; the main variation are unit codes. This book is fairly hard to find these days but if you can find a copy at a reasonable price I can recommend it.
