that was the beautiful sound that came out of it
I Finally got My Assassin yesterday 6/22/17 and immediately took the baby out for a spin. I put it in 6'6" Medium/Heavy Rod and After adjusting the Assassin to a 3/8oz bitsy Jig on it I casted that Jig out and Ziiiiiiiiiiing!!! that was the beautiful sound that came out of it, It was like a Line Drive, that thing cast out to Australia!!! and best is there was no backlash!! dozens of cast I made without a problem, I wasn't even interested in catching any fish at some point, I just wanted to hear the sound the Assassin made on every cast. I have a 30lb braid in it. We all can get a Lemon on almost everything that is Manufactured in this World so I can understand the 1 star on a couple of reviews, It could be just a matter of poor adjustment, who knows but I got to say that the Kastking Assassin deserves more than 5 Stars in My review. Now it's all about Durability, well see for how long it lasts, I hope I can enjoy this reel for years to come. PS. I have 2 Abu Garcia Silver Max in other Rods, this one is My "To Go" Reel Now!!!

jthese reels are so smooth just as smooth as higher end reels and at 5.7 oz is super light and won't tire you out after a long day of fishing and the fit and feel of the assassin is topnotch would recommend it highly to anyone wanting the features and feel of a high end reel at a more affordable price

Amazing feel and quality, casts a mile!
Absolutely love the look and feel of this reel! It's an all around amazing reel and is super light! It's Dual breaking system with centrifugal and magnetic brakes makes the reel cast a mile super smooth. The reel also has a good amount of line capacity and really great feeling EVA foam grips. Would be a reel for a beginner to a veteran in bait casting reels.

Great reel.
I fish with pro qualifiers and Shimano Curado reels normally. I had a chance to test the KastKing assassin this weekend and I have to say I was impressed. It is extremely light and seems to be well made for the most part. The good: The centrifugal cast control is awesome, it uses a dial instead of pins. I found the dial easy to use and really liked the feature. Side cover comes off and goes back on easily. Casts perfectly every time, I had absolutely no problems with casting and was able to set it up quickly and easily. Very comfortable reel. The iffy (not bad): The side cover release it bigger than what it needs to be. The outer casing feels a little cheap, will have to see how well it holds up. I had trouble getting the line on the spool to be even. I backed it with 10lb mono and had to take the line off a couple of times to get it even. Once the backing line is even though you won't have to mess with it again for a while.I would definitely buy another one, for the money this is a great reel. I don't think you can go wrong with it.

Float like a butterfly sting like a bee :)
WOW!!! I thought the box was empty! To my surprise, the reel was inside and once I put my hands on it I couldn't believe how light it really is. The action on the reel is super smooth and I can't wait to find some bass!

Amazing fr the price!
I ordered this real 3 months ago and wanted to really use it before reviewing it. I've caught easily 75 plus fish on this mostly bass some bowfins and even pickerel this has handle everything really well. This can handle about every lure you put on it I usually fish at weightless senko on it. Also if you are looking for your first baitcaster this is perfect it is very hard to back lash this thing! It's super light, it's pretty dam sexy and it works just as good as when I first got it! The reel is worth way more then it's price tag. I will probably end up buying another but I herd Kastking is coming out with another reel soon so I'm going to wait and see what that one is all about. If kastking keeps making quality products like this without the premium price tag the big brands better what out. Thank you kastking for giving a amazing QUALITY product!

I had a couple of kastking Sharky spinning reels that I really liked but my baitcaster was a Shimano curado
I bought this out of sheer curiosity after reading reviews. I had a couple of kastking Sharky spinning reels that I really liked but my baitcaster was a Shimano curado... after using both the Assassin and the Curado, I ended up selling the Curado on eBay. The Assassin is lighter and I like the bigger handle which gives a more comfortable retrieve for somebody used to spinning reels. I felt that the fit and finish of both was very similar... To be completely fair, I don't think that Kastking has done anything revolutionary here, but rather the other brands are simply falling off in quality and fit and finish due to typical efforts at minimizing the cost of manufacturing. I also experienced this when I bought a Shimano Sedona spinning reel recently for a last minute trip and it just did not feel like Shimano reels of the past at that price point. I found myself craving another Sharky II spinning reel after fishing with that Sedona. Needless to say I bought a couple more of the Sharky's and that's what we use for primary spinning reels. I think that the quality, fit and finish of past years Shimano reels are now reserved for those that cost $200 or more... I think there may be beefier reels out there for applications where you are not casting and retrieving hundreds and hundreds of times in a trip, but if you prefer a really light reel that is not as taxing on the arms and shoulders, this and the Sharky 2 reels get it done.
