Air Cooled Spindle Motor Machining Inverter CNC 1.5KW ER11 Air-Cooled Spindle Motor with 1.5KW Inverter Drive VFD (1.5KW air-Cooled Motor&1.5KW VFD)

I purchased the wrong motor and had to return this. However everything about this was impressive. I never got to power it up because it was just to wide to fit my system. It occurred to me that if I had been able to use it I would have needed stronger stepper motors. It’s heavy. The power system was in a tacky plastic box but everything about the motor was good.

First of all, I love this product. It put my small little 12000rpm spindle to shame.It cuts through wood like a hot knife through butter.Feels solid enough.The VFD is not as pictured however it does the job perfectly.The spindle is also solid and quiet when in use.BUT. And this is a BIG BUT..The spindle is NOT earthed. There is no connection between pin 4 and the outer shell of the spindle.If you do buy this then I would recommend that you also fit a suitable earth from pin 4 to the outer frame of the spindle.I removed the 4 screws and 4 alan heads from the top of the spindle and soldered on a short wire from pin 4.This wire then went through to the motor and I used a ring terminal crimp connector to attach this to the spindle wall using one of the 4 alan bolts.I would give 5 stars but for this reason it only gets 4 as this is a issue that needs to be fixed.Also be careful when setting this up. Read the manual and follow the instructions of the VFD and the spindle.

Yes your eyes aren’t deceiving you, I fitted this beast to a 3018 pro. You could argue it’s over lol but it works.Believe me when I say, if you skip tramming you’ll find it will eat aluminium for breakfast.But trammed and it beautifully slices through aluminium. The Z and X axis do need to be upgraded.

I have this and the water cooled version. Both appear high quality and work flawlessly. Easy to wire up and with a host of options on controlling it. The manual is a little hard to follow in parts, but otherwise contains all you need to know. A front panel speed control knob would be nice, but at the price adding one is easy enough.All in all I am very pleased with the product- which is why I bought the second.

After placing the order I didn't have too long to wait for delivery. Very well packed and complete with manuals and spanners too! Product looks well made and the VFD, albeit having that 'Chinese-plastic' feel to it seems to be of good quality. Haven't yet fired up the units as am still awaiting delivery of my CNC machine. Hopefully the spindle and VFD will perform as expected! So far seems a bargain at the price.

spindle is well made. spins up quickly and provides lots of power. comes with spanners for collet holder and 1/4" and 1/8" collets. vfd not particularly noisy. manual supplied is brief but contains all info would need. would like to have a chat with whoever designed connector for spindle - found it to be a complete pain to get all four wires arranged correctly in housing. apart from that, well impressed.
