It is what it is, an adapter. I was able to use this to use some nice 4x70W T10 tubular bulbs with 5W dimmable candelabra LED. Since the fixture is so narrow, I had limited options, these made it easy.My point of concern is that the metal base contact while initially raised (giving the impression of a decent contact) once the bulb is inserted and removed, you'll note that the contact does not spring up again. Hopefully they don't break off, but given the theoretical lifetime on the bulbs, I really shouldn't need to be swapping them all that often.
