I prefer to use the 1.8 meter height as that is what Leica poles use and it is less likely to be blown over by the wind and the receiver is still above your head which prevents potential multi-path. My original rod from 2018 is still functioning without issue but when I ordered one of these for an employee and found it was identical to my beloved 2018 model I went ahead and ordered myself a second for future use. I should also note that in 2024 I bought a $600 carbon fiber 2m rod and bipod set from a well known brand. Comparing this rod against the much higher priced equivalent I found that this rod is by far the best value for the money. Review: As advertised and good value - The rods were as advertised, and overall seems to be a good value. They don't seem quite as thick as our more expensive carbon fiber rods, but they are certainly able to stand up to moderate field use. Feels more like a hybrid of carbon fiber over aluminum, but I'm not able to verify that (and I'm not about to start drilling holes in the rod to find out). Even if that is the case, they work well and are reasonably stable, especially for the price. The overall length is correct, and the bulls-eye level was spot-on without needing any adjustment. The screw threads aren't quite as smooth as our more expensive rods, but I'd hardly call them bad.
