Gorgeous, complex color!
Photos do not do it justice! This color is a rich chocolate mink brown, with a hint of eggplant undertone. The eggplant shows up especially when you apply this wet. A wet application dries to a multifaceted jeweltone of colors. SO pretty!I was a MAC eyeshadow devotee just because I liked a few other things of their brand (their lipsticks, I fiend for!!) but Smashbox always performed better in the eyeshadow department. Every time I'd use a MAC eyeshadow I'd think, "these cost HOW much? Shouldn't they be easier to work with/deeper color/longer lasting" etc. But it was MAC so I kept using it. Finally a friend sent me an NYX color, and as I used it I thought wow these things must cost a fortune! The color payoff, the ease of application were so amazing, they FELT like I had expected the MAC should. Then I found out how inexpensive NYX is; if I had known how 'cheap' they were before I used them I might have been biased against them before I used them. Now? I can't get enough of them. The only other brand of eyeshadow I will not toss out is my Smashbox, but the NYX has beat everything else to death.I see people occasionally say they get a lot of fallout; I don't know why you would with THIS color. But if it is a glittery color (like Hot Green), use Glitter Glue by Too Faced. Apply with a sponge or a dabbing motion with a nice thick eye brush like this one real Techniques Shading Brush (Pack of 2) Just pack and dab. I promise the stuff will stay on, and be rich.As for SENSUAL, I apply it wet just because when I put on my eyeshadow in the morning, I need it to last at least 10 hours. I stopped using Urban Decay Primer Potion when I found out that Mac Paint Pot does the job and at a fraction of the price, so that's what I recommend. I dab on a Paint Pot normally in Painterly (I recommend directly from MAC to avoid fakes), but you can use any other color under the Sensual to enhance the color. Or, use a Jumbo NYX Eye Pencil and dab it on your lid; it acts like the Paint Pot (ALMOST as good!) Then I put a drop of MAC Fix+ on the surface of my eye color (you can also use Visine! It's cheaper!) and dab my eye brush on the surface and pat the color onto my eyelid and/or crease. I take a fluffy blender and make tiny circular motions on the crease color to blend it up and out, it dries very quickly and won't give you a problem. And after everything I spray my face with Urban Decay DeSlick spray, only because my face ends up like an oil slick and this seems to help delay that a little.Little eyeliner and mascara and that's it for 10 hours or more.Sensual looks good for day, and it really looks good as a smokey eye for going out. Not that I go out much! But when I do, I know I can grab ANY of the NYX colors to match my outfit and they will stay on through sweat and humidity and anything. A big plus, I am NOT 'younger' any more. My eye area can't take a lot of frost or shimmer without screaming "WRINKLES!". That's why I had to give up my Urban Decay Naked 1 and 2 Palettes, they just aged my eye area. So far, the NYX does not enhance or amplify my less-than-perfect eye area. It dries smoothly, it sits smoothly, and that's a lot to ask from ANY eye shadow.*Groundwork paint pot (or French Fry NYX jumbo eye pencil) as a base on my lid/crease, Apricot Moose wet on the lid, with Sensual in the crease (and inner corners for me, I have almond shaped, close-set eyes so have to reverse where the corners are). Dry-brushed NYX Angel blush over the Sensual in the crease and up into the browbone for a transition color. MAC Dark Diversion Fluidline eyeliner top and bottom (it is a dark plummy charcoal). AMAZING. Long lasting and a tippy balance between made-up and effortless!*As a wash shade over NYX Golden (which isn't THAT golden and has an olive/yellow base).UPDATE: I no longer recommend the MAC Paint Pots ($18) as a base, I know lots of people love them but I have oily lids and (older skin issues)....and over time grew disenchanted with the Paint Pots. I actually like the Maybelline Color Tattoo cream eyeshadows as a base, they last a lot longer than the MAC Paint Pots and cost 1/3 as much (or less with a sale/coupons) I actually get all day wear using the Maybelline. Yeah, I can't believe it either, this is coming from the mouth of an avowed drugstore makeup snob!!

Everything you'd ask for in an eyeshadow and Whoah, what a price!
I bought this eyeshadow in conjunction with MAC Small Eye Shadow - Red Brick 1.5g One thing I can say is both are a true red (as opposed to a pink base or orange base), however the MAC shadow is a darker and less saturated brick red, which I thought would layer nicely with the brighter NYX color. The shipment of the NYX eyeshadow arrived quickly, within the week, in perfect condition. No complaints with the seller or shipping. I immediately went to try it out, and am pleased to report that my expectations were fully met--if not exceeded. Like the other reviewers say, this is a true red, not an Apricot or orange-tinted shade whatsoever. It is definitely warm and would blend with yellows and other warm tones. Layering cools over this yields an unsightly muddy brown (I tried it). For most who are in the market for a vibrant color palette when it comes to cosmetics, primary colors and the like, we're looking to make a bold statement. We want the pigment rich, the color to pop, not just a hint of red, or a sheer veneer. As such, I like to do my makeup dramatic, with cat eyes and dark penciled brows, and for me it packed the color punch I was looking for with a very blendable, rich application (not to mention, it was less than half the price of the MAC shadow for more product...). But the real shocker was that the NYX shadow actually outperformed the MAC shadow. To my dismay I found the MAC product to go on a bit too sheer. It was thin and blah and just a tad dull. I won't probably use it, and I certainly hadn't expected that considering the reputation for quality MAC maintains within the cosmetics world and higher price tag the brand commands. Who knew!?

Online color is hard to tell........
It's hard to get an accurate description of this color by seeing online photos. Once you swatch it onto your hand or lids, it transforms into something else entirely. This is really more of a Cordovan color; cranberry/purple/taupe all at once.I used this as a crease color and it was smooth and buttery, easy to blend out. I applied it wet on my lids (over MAC paint pot in Painterly, but I think Rubenesque or Blackground would be great too!) and it has been on 7 hours now with NO migrating or fading. It looks great with Apricot Moose as a lid color. I apply the Paint Pot, then a drop of the MAC Fix+ onto the surface of the eye shadow (or spray the brush with it, or use Visine instead) and dab the color onto my eyes. When they are dry, you can take your fluffy blender and do whatever you want to them! They won't fall out onto your cheeks or end up under your eyes. BEAUTIFUL!As a wash over Root Beer, it made a gorgeously contrasting yet meshing eye look. LOVE this color, hate the name.I really got into MAC eye shadows for awhile, but have slowly rehomed them. NYX shadows, at a fraction of the price, give me better color payoff and longer lasting wear. I almost feel blasphemous to be saying this, but so far *without fail*, the NYX colors have blown the MAC away in application, color saturation, and durability. I guess this is a good thing since I can buy 4-5 NYX's for the cost of one MAC!

Fair for price
It's exactly the lime green I wanted but it's not as pigmented as I'd like. Overall I'm happy with it

This is a great eyeshadow and good value
I was skeptical at first trying a new eyeshadow, but this slowly became one of my go-to's. A little bit goes a long way. This is a great eyeshadow !

Fabulous Shade and Very Easy To Wear
I'm a fairly recent convert to NYX cosmetics but in a long quest to find a mid-brown eyeshadow I liked, I decided to try this one. Taupe was a bit too dark but this shade True Taupe is lovely.I wear it daily and as a base I use a small amount of foundation plus a primer (NYC) and I find this eyeshadow lasts all day with no problem (somewhere around 8-10 hours at least). It has a very soft texture and feels gentle on the eyelid. The pigment is great and the colour is buildable to a lovely, wearable shade. This is no obvious shimmer, so the flat colour is ideal for daywear, or you could add other colours and a shimmery highlighter for a 'going out' look. This is perfect as a base colour across the whole eyelid and I usually add a darker shade of brown in the socket of my eye for definition. The shadow is lightweight and as I'm getting closer to the bottom of the block, I'm finding more is coming away on my brush when I swirl it around to load up in the container. That said, the little pot is reasonably deep, so I'm not seeing it spill out of the sides. And I've so far had 3 different colours in the range, and I haven't experienced any problems with the eyeshadow breaking up into pieces at all.Overall I'd definitely recommend this product and this particular shade, and on the whole the NYX range is pretty good value.

Lovely product, let down by inadequate packaging....
Bought this having watched a makeup tutorial on YouTube and wanted to recreate the look....Unfortunately the packaging did not adequately protect the product, and if arrived with the lid snapped off and half the powder having fallen out. I did not choose to return it, rather I did that truck with rubbing alcohol to reform the loose powder back into the pot, and lived with a loose lid.The powder itself is lovely, goes on easily on eyelids, and is a nice soft brown. It has a slight shimmer to it, but really subtle. Great to nerd with other colours. I also use it with a small brush to define my eyebrows. Were it not for the packaging failure, this would have got a higher rating....

Fantastic buy
Well packaged, arrived on time, great pigment, I was expecting more of a brown shade, its more purple/brown. Would purchase this brand again

Love this Shadow!
Absolutely adore this eyeshadow! It unfortunately came busted in the post, so I find red shadow on everything! It applies so well to the skin and stays put for ages. It's so bold but looks beautiful. Love it so much! I wear it all the time! (in the pic I am submitting, I had been wearing it all day and had even laughed until I cried in it! But it still looks gorgeous!)

Nyx makeup is gorgeous
I really like Nyx products and this is no exception. The plum is not quite as dark as I would have liked it, but the makeup is great. If you want it darker, just put more on, though it still doesn't reach the shade I expected.....though lovely. Nyx also have a great range in their colours, so another plus. You get a good amount for your money as well, so am all in all very pleased.
