Leviton 9726-C2 RECEPT W/LDS

My house is over 26 years old. I have two lights in the hallway and one in the wash room that are all controlled by the same switch. I have blown in insulation. I was up running an HDMI cable from one room to another when I noticed a black round cable with the outside insulation completely coming apart. I traced it to the above lights. I ripped out all the wiring and replaced it with legal grounded cable. The fixture in the wash room was just screwed to the sheet rock with two screws, not even any anchors. It did not have a ground. I cut a circular hole in the sheet rock and mounted this outlet. It works great and I don't have to worry about my house burning down.

Used for replacement of like fixture but went with porcelin after attic exposure "did in" the old plastic fixure. Like the available plug outlet for working up there occasionally (or for the new electrified HD Antenna soon to live there). Pull mechanism in old plastic one failed...hope this lasts longer (seems to start with better pull action).Also placed two as replacements in garage lights as power cord extension for saws for intermittent use and can leave 1 off for plenty of light when using new trifold LED garage lights.

I did it myself at age 78.

First one arrived broken . Amazon promptly sent a replacement which I give Amazon 5 stars for customer service . I give 4 stars to product due to cheap stranded copper wires and cheap pull string. The product does work well , but is overpriced for what you get.

I ordered two and both made it intact through shipping. I needed to punch out the other screw holes and that went off without a hitch. Pull chain switch works well, smooth action. I like this porcelain rather than the plastic models. No complaints.

This Leviton has the feel of traditional quality compared to the flimsy imported brass one I replaced. It was only about a dollar more for the one with the outlet on the side and that has proved to be very useful for vacuuming or even plugging in a portable TV or radio. Excellent installation instructions made it easy to put in.

This little porcelain fixture arrived with a small chip, but other than that it is perfect. I was able to install it in place of an older ceiling fan in our garage in less than 10 minutes. And it works like a charm, plus it has the added feature, I receptacle for plugging in an extension cord when needed.

I put this on my bathroom ceiling with a 250W heat lamp about 3 years ago. Because the bulb has a wide front, the cord pulls at a bit of an angle. Shouldn't be a problem, but... the pull became difficult a few months ago so I just left it on. After seeing my electric bill, I decided to turn it off today but a few hours later I was cold so tried to turn it back on.The cord pulls and snaps smoothly, but the light doesn't come on. The outlet is working and the bulb tests as good, so...I remember when products like this would last a lifetime, but that was in the 20th Century when stuff was built to last. In the interest of selling everything at the absolute lowest price, I've seen all kinds of simple electrical stuff lately that doesn't work - like a molded plug with a hole too small for regular 18/2 wire!Speaking of "lowest price," Leviton has added $5 for the two short pigtail leads. The 9726-C, with terminal screws, is half the price. Sure hope it lasts twice as long!

Wonderful, much better quality than those cheap plastic ones. Installed easily, plug is a great addition with constant power to it all the time.Rope included for pull is cheap garbage, so just buy a chain separately and everything is perfect.

Did exactly what I needed it to do, was just as shown and works perfectly.

I was glad to have a light outlet box mount that also had a second electrical outlet for a plug in that was separate to thelight and had electricity going to it at all times separate from the light itself, even if the light was turned off .

I used this unit for extension lights. work great.
