Tamale paper/ Papel de tamale 9" by 9" by 3 1/2" sheets We distribute tamale paper made from true vegetable parchment. There are imitation parchments often offered and sold as "parchment", but they do not have the same resistance to tearing when wet and boiling like ours do. Our Parchment can withstand the high heat of cooking in water and is necessary for any tamale-making process, either as an outer-sheet wrapper to wrap the traditional corn-husk "hoja", or the corn-husk can be completely replaced by an inner sheet of parchment. The Inside Sheet Parchment for the inner sheet is treated with silicone to avoid sticking of the masa and is not printed. The benefits of parchment tamale paper for the inner sheet as a substitute for corn husk "hoja" wrapper include uniformity and consistency no soaking or cleaning required no farm or field contamination speed in processing and handling less storage space continuous availability prices below that of (multiple) corn husks Hint: a few corn husks can be added to the cooking water to give the taste and smell of corn husks to the parchment. We offer a unique premium textured tamale sheet that closely resembles the traditional hojas...and the price is competitive with corn husks... Made from corn-yellow colored vegetable vellum that is 31# weight, the wrap is textured and food-grade silicone-treated for easy-release. 9" by 9" by 3 1/2" sheets, textured silicone-treated corn-yellow vellum, a trapezoid or triangle with the top cut off.. 9" high, 9" across the base, 3.5" across the top. We have used these personally and once you go to parchment you will never go back to corn husks.

They are awesome. As someone else commented
Just used these for the first time. They are awesome. As someone else commented, "Bye bye corn husks."Adding real corn husks to the boil water works well too add some corn husk aroma to the finished product. Highly recommended. These paired with the Tamales Masa Spreader by Mex-Sales Inc and tamales will fly out of your kitchen.

Nasty
The wrappers (product) came loose.. wrapped in newspaper then wrapped again in ebay paper. Normally these wrappers are white in color....these were brown stained like tobacco. I have used factory wrapped Tampico paper tamales wraps before with great results. I have no idea where the hell this garbage came from.

They work great!
They work perfectly. i bought them out of curiosity and i will continue to buy then when i'm making tamales just for my home but when it gets to making a lot then i would go for the real thing because these ones can get expensive. But I do still recommend them.

The quality of the paper was really authentic to that ...
The quality of the paper was really authentic to that of a corn husk. The only issue was the size. It was too small for our tamales. I think it needs to be double the size to work for me.

These are absolutely amazing. Bye Bye Corn husks...
These are amazing. All the years of making tamales and this year was by far the easiest and the results are far superior to that of the original corn husks. Each Tamale is beautiful, the same size and much more moist than using the traditional style corn husk. The flat sheet makes it so easy to spread the masa and they fold super easy too. No fuss at all. I will never go back to the corn husks. I buy in bulk from Walsh Paper Distribution. 1000/case and totally worth it if you have a big family you can split them up with or use for a few years.
