Is it worth the money and time investment learning this complex game?
Absolutely. This is one of the best board games I have ever played. It is expensive yes, but the production value, the size, the sheer quality AND quantity warrants the price. In terms of learning curve, if you are moving straight from Monopoly, this will astonish and overwhelm, but for folks who have learned the crunch of DnD, Path Finder, or more complex board games like Pandemic Legacy, Dune, etc. it is par for the course. It comes with the territory, 4-5 hours will be spent just setting up the game, reading rules, fumbling your way through a game, watching videos etc. but after the 2nd and 3rd game, you’ll have it down. And it will be worth it. The game has so many layers, rules, that encourage these cinematic moments you’ll be laughing about and talking about and thinking about months if not years later!I’ll never forget the look on my wife’s face when I abandoned her on the ship and took the last life pod!

Nemesis
I am a long time fan of the Alien movies. Nemesis is quite literally Alien in a box. There are different modes to play such as solo, co-op and my favorite, semi-co-op. This game is unforgiving and very thematic. I love the sense of plausible betrayal from another player and the sense of atmosphereic horror. Due to the price tag I postponed purchasing this game for a couple of years but finally bought it and I am now the proud owner of this game along with a couple of the expansions. This game is worth every penny. There are never identical playthroughs, so the replay value is very high. Definitely recommend to any horror or sci-fi fan. You are looking at about a two or three hour playthrough depending on the number of players. The rules are a bit complex at first but once you get the basics the rules just flow easily.

Great game but might be daunting for newer player
Let me start by saying that this is a great game! A narrative experience where players attempt to survive a starship which is falling apart around them, vicious alien intruders, and possibly other players who might pursue their own sometimes selfish agendas. Terror and treachery are around every corner and players must attempt to pursue a secret personal goal(s) in order to attain victory and some co-operation is required as the game is hard. However, patient players wait until the fruits of betrayal are ripe and a sudden door closing, room lit afire, or drawing the intruders to a room occupied by your now-former friends can change the narrative of the game for better or worse. The game itself does have a lot of rules and actually winning can be a daunting task. There are rules for co-operative and solo play, but the main game, fully involved is the true gem here. The game components are very nice - quality cardboard, plastic chips for the noise markers, fires and malfunctioning room tokens. And of course, the figurines are great! The intruders are large and menacing and the most common foe has multiple sculpts and poses. All the figures and components come pre-assembled and the box is packed full of game pieces. The rules book is large and fairly easy to follow, but there are a lot of rules and you will be referring back to it often, even once you've played a few times. It also comes with 2 separate sheets that define what the different rooms do, so the players don't need to pass around the rule-book constantly - a nice well-thought out touch. Overall, my group enjoys this game, but less competitive groups might not like the semi-co-op version of the game as much.

Worth it's cost?
Gameplay:this is a semi-coop game that drips with atmosphere and theme. If you like the classic feelings of the film Alien you will like the theme this game is going for. As a us vs the AI board game, the difficulty can be unfair as you can be punished even for making good moves. However, this difficulty does fit into the theme of the game and it has resulted in some of the more memerable moments playing with friends.Thankfully the difficulty is not from understanding the rules. If you have one person confortable with the rules, the game is easy to share with is players at all gamer levels. Everyone I have introduced the game to has loved the atmosphere and gameplay decisions it presents. The Box:Even though it is a great game that I have only had fun playing it may not be worth it's upfront costs. Most of the value for me came from the miniatures, the aliens specifically. I enjoy painting miniatures and I had several days of fun simply painting the miniatures. There are a wide variety of alien sculpts and their detail is of high value. The human character minis, though great, pale in comparison to the alien sculpts. With in this mind a lot of my value has been from painting the miniatures. The Box itself is well designed and has slots for all of it's components that makes putting it away and taking it out easy. This is great because there are a lot of components and a well organized box makes the process of setting up a lot easier. In sum:ProsA great semi co-op experience, with amazing miniatures and organized box for it's components.Con:Is it's Cost. If you do not plan to paint these minis, don't like the theme, don't regularly play board games, or you have a lot of great games competing for your attention it may not be worth your while.Personal opinion:I am very happy to own this product and it is a lovely addition to my board game collection.
